- If I weren’t a member of the Van Eikel family, I could have stood at that window and watched indifferently as the mob destroyed the sculpture my mother loved right on our front porch. But my heart couldn’t bear it. Please see for yourself what they did.

- This statue was a cherished family heirloom. Unable to find a way to break into the mansion, the vandals, out of frustration, ruined this magnificent work of art. When I saw it, a righteous anger welled up inside me.
