- The Colonel's travel diary says that he picked some "whispering flowers" for Miss Peacock on his journey. No flower in its right mind would whisper. The Colonel is writing about Arisaema. I'll have to take a look.

- This arisaema is a luscious flower. But I don't sense any evil in it. Gallahard writes that he picked this flower on an island off the coast of Florida and got nothing else. But it was the luring sounds and whispers from the depths of darkness heard there that drove his companion mad.
