- If the monstrous man of the circus serves the shadow, his possessions should reflect that fact. The bright colors fade around the shadow's disciples. Maximus is not yet a disciple...what is that eerie light in the corner of the room? The light seems to be emanating from a lantern. Let's check it out.

- The eerie light of these mysterious lanterns seems to emanate from the phosphorescent mushrooms crammed inside. I recall Carlos Wright recently suggesting that citizens use glowing mushrooms instead of crystals for lighting as a way to conserve energy resources.
