- The lantern that Naoko's mind pointed to is definitely related to Tetsuo, but in what way is not yet clear. I see that there is a piece of cotton caught in the ceiling board from which the lantern is hung. I have a rough guess as to what that means, but I just can't reach it, so could you please take it off?

- This cotton is sprayed with the same paint used on spirit lanterns. Cotton wicks like this one are sometimes used in curse rituals. While the wick is burning, a spell is cast. This lantern was probably made by a witchdoctor. It is quite possible that it was Naoko's uncle!
