- When the Lantern Festival begins, all the sky lanterns in the city need to be lit. So I asked my guardian deity, Vermillion Bird, to bring me a phoenix flame. I asked him to bring me a phoenix flame, because it burns much longer and brighter than an ordinary fire. Look at this little statue of the flame.
