- Description
- Shortly before my arrival, a tragedy struck the von Oben family. A huge gear fell off the clock mechanism... Tilly ended up in a wheelchair, and her mother died. The only image of this wonderful woman is preserved in a mirror.
- Completed
- The woman whose features are drawn in this mirror is Tilly’s mother. My sister told me that when she was learning to draw, she sat her mother in front of the mirror and circled her face with chalk. Surprisingly, these careless lines accurately conveyed the gentle and affectionate Mrs. von Oben.
