- Tilly’s disappearance could have been caused by father not letting her out of the tower. He treated her like a piece of porcelain, but she was eager to explore the world and would have, if not for father. I entertained her as best I could. See that tambourine hat on the wall?

- The hat’s ridiculous, right? This was my gift to Tilly from the fair. Every evening I returned from the City and told her what life was like outside the tower. I became her window to the world, and she, who loved to paint and draw, captured this world in frescoes on the walls of our rooms.
