Hidden City Walkthrough

Quest

These are the story/quests featured in Hidden City. There is a vast number of stories, and please note that the order and categories are unorganized, so it might be a bit difficult to navigate. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Third Ingredient

    Mistress

Pleased that it’s all been so easy so far? Let’s see how quickly you find the next ingredient - White Musk. It’s a natural substance, which increases attractiveness.

I see you found the White Musk. I must admit, you’re not as hopeless as I first thought. We already have most of the perfume ingredients.

    Enchanted Ball

  • Second Ingredient

    Mistress

The perfume base consists of woody notes. I need some Sandalwood Oil. And don’t dawdle!

What? You got the Sandalwood Oil already? At this rate, by nightfall you’ll have deprived me of turning Juliette into a toad.

    Enchanted Ball

  • First Ingredient

    Mistress

We can make my perfume by mixing the necessary ingredients. We’ll start with something simple - bring me some Citrus Oil. Well, what are you waiting for? Go!

What are you so pleased about? The Citrus Oil is the most simple and easy to find ingredient. You can’t relax yet!

    Enchanted Ball

  • Round and Round!

    Valerie

Alright, hurry up and give the little girl her toys. I’ll run and find some cotton candy and balloons. Up and down, round and round! It’s almost as fun as when I was a kid!

You’re the absolute best person in this whole gloomy City! The carousel is all ours, let’s have some fun. There’s plenty of room for both of us!

  • Unbelievable Luck

    Valerie

I can’t believe our luck! That stone monster over there is carrying around a Baby Elephant toy. Now we’re just missing one final toy for the little girl.

Whoopee! We got the Baby Elephant, the last toy! I’m already excited at the thought of riding on the carousel.

    Crash Site

  • How about a kitten?

    Valerie

There are just two toys left to get. You can usually find whatever you need in the City, but toys are pretty thin on the ground. I don’t even know what else we could try to find. Maybe a kitten?

Great, you did it. The kitten looks a lot better than the squirrel. It seems almost alive. Meow!

    Santa's Workshop

  • Strange Toy

    Valerie

The Conductor recalled the boggarts taking a little toy squirrel out of some forgotten luggage. But when I last met them, they didn’t have anything like that. Maybe they hid the squirrel somewhere nearby?

Wow, is that really a squirrel? It looks a little strange. Looks more like a hamster, don’t you think? But a strange child won’t mind strange toys, right?

    Crash Site

  • A Trade for a Teddy Bear

    Valerie

Do you remember my Teddy Bear? The one I brought into the City with me? I’m sure the little girl would love him! But I lost him somewhere. Can you find him for me?

My favourite bear! But I’m grown up now, and I like the carousel more.

    Crash Site

  • Ghostly Despair

    Valerie

The girl said that she wanted a fluffy little Tiger Cub more than anything else in the world. A strange request from a child, but we should see if we can find one in the City all the same.

The Tiger Cub sure is cute. If it weren’t for the carousel, I’d keep it for myself!

  • Help from the Uninitiated

    Martha

We have all the components. But only an uninitiated can combine them into the Book of the Dead. So I’m going to need your help yet again.

You’ve done it already? Oh! What a book - it will safely house all the Necromancer’s knowledge. Take this artifact as a token of my gratitude. The stars have shown me that you’ll find it useful.

  • Book Cover

    Martha

To prevent the spells from escaping from the book, we’ll have to give it a cover with a strong magical aura. Can you get me a werewolf skin? It’s just the thing for what we need to make.

Oh yes, even from a distance I can feel the strong magical field coming off this skin.

    Room of Fate

  • Magic Needle

    Martha

Have you seen my needle? It was right here a moment ago! It’s no ordinary needle - it was made from a silver bullet that killed a werewolf. If it’s not too much trouble, could you find it for me?

Did you find it? I thank you. We can only bind the Book of the Dead with this needle.

    Room of Fate

  • Book Binding

    Martha

To bind the pages of the Book of the Dead, we’ll need a special thread - finer than hair and stronger than steel. There are several exotic spiders living in the City - their silk should do the trick.

Such beautiful spider’s yarn - so fine and strong. I hope the spiders didn’t object too strongly.

    Room of Fate

  • Magic Ink

    Martha

To write the dark spells, we’ll need special magic ink. I had a vial of it, but the bats flew in through the window and stole it. I can’t imagine why they’d need it...

You managed to get the ink from the bats! I watched in the crystal orb - it didn’t look easy.

  • Book Pages

    Martha

To make the pages, we’ll need parchment. The energy of the spells would make ordinary paper burst into flames.

Wonderful! You found so much parchment that we have enough to make two books.

    Room of Fate

  • Fang Necklace

    Huntress

You found all five fangs. One last request,bitte... find me a strong chain so that I won’t lose my trophies again - even in the fiercest battles.

You returned my amulet to me! Danke! I never doubted your abilities! Take one of my trophies as a token of my gratitude.

  • Man-eating Monster

    Huntress

I took the last fang in a battle with a manticore. Even I flinched when I saw that monster - it had three rows of teeth, the tail of a scorpion, and blood-red eyes.

Defeating the manticore was far from easy - it moves faster than lightning. But the fog as my witness, I defeated the beast and took its fang as a trophy!

  • Petrified Monster

    Huntress

In battle, raw strength often doesn’t cut it - you need cunning as well. A mirror shield helped me get the Basilisk’s Fang. The monster’s own gaze turned it to stone! And now that rarest of fangs is lost thanks to one silly gargoyle.

The Basilisk Fang makes quite a decent weapon on its own. It contains the monster’s poison, lethal to all living creatures.

    Enchanted Ball

  • Child-stealing Monster

    Huntress

A local fräulein begged me to save a child stolen by a terrible chimera. I just couldn’t refuse her! I took two fangs from that monster. One of them I gave to the child as a souvenir, but the second should be somewhere around here.

The fire-breathing chimera is a terrible hybrid of a lion, dragon and who knows what else. I defeated it with an arrow to the heart - getting any closer would have been too dangerous. Did you not know that the chimera has fangs?

    Enchanted Ball

  • Minotaur From a Labyrinth

    Huntress

I searched for monsters all over the world. I once found myself in the Minotaur’s Labyrinth. Mein Gott, that was quite a fight! That was the monster that provided my necklace with its second fang.

Getting the Minotaur’s Fang wasn’t as hard as getting out of the labyrinth. I swear on my blade, that was a true test of courage.

    Enchanted Ball

  • Gargoyle Fang

    Huntress

The first monster I defeated was a gargoyle. The cunning beast couldn’t withstand the might of Thor’s Hammer! Return my gargoyle fang to me, please.

This fang reminds me of my first battle with a gargoyle... It leapt off a roof and caught me unawares. But that didn’t save it from a quick death.

    Enchanted Ball

  • Summon the Unicorn.

    Isabelle

We have all the horns. Now we can perform the ritual to summon the Unicorn. You arrange the horns while I start reading the spell.

Amazing! As soon as I pronounced the last word, a star lit up above the circle of horns! I could hear a neigh and see the dim outline of a snow-white unicorn. But suddenly the fog is shrouding everything... Oh, no! When the fog dissipated, only the Unicorn’s horn remained in the circle - and nothing to lead us to the answer we need.

  • Horn of Merriment

    Isabelle

We still have to find the last horn - the horn of a Satyr, the spirit of merriment and lovemaking. I think we’ll find this horn in not an entirely respectable place.

Did you find it? I thought that’s where the horn would be.

  • Horn of the Nature Spirit

    Isabelle

We’ve found most of the items we need for the ritual. The next one is the horn of a Faun, a nature spirit. You say you know where you might find one?

You’ve already found the Fawn Horn? Mmm... I can even smell the scent of the forest emanating from it.

  • Horn of Evil

    Isabelle

The third horn belongs to the wicked companion of Saint Nick... Krampus. I have no idea where to look for it.

Is this the Krampus Horn? It practically reeks of malice... Not a pleasant thing at all.

  • Celestial Horn

    Isabelle

The second horn is that of the astral Taurus. Martha told me that it’s often used in magic rituals. I doubt she’d refuse to lend you the horn.

Oh, what a beautiful Taurus Horn. It shines just like a star. Tell Martha thank you from me.

  • Horn of a Monster

    Isabelle

A new anomaly has appeared in the City. This unexplained phenomenon has been given a name to match its properties: "Distortions." When it appears on a location, this anomaly seems to blur item names, making them even more difficult to find. There’s a rare artifact around here somewhere that attracted the anomaly. Please find it.

Did the Huntress give you a Chimera Horn? Wonderful! Without her, there’s no way we could have found one.

  • Restore the arrow.

    Martha

You have found all the arrow pieces. And I just found the spell we need. Assemble the arrow and I will reunite its parts on the astral level.

The Golden Arrow is whole once more! Fly, and drive away the wicked shadows to a place beyond the realm of light - cast them into eternal darkness!

  • Arrow’s Heart

    Martha

The last piece is a ruby, the stone of fire. It possesses the power of light, which will help us get rid of the Shadows of Terror once and for all.

A Ruby filled with the power of fire... Yes, this is it.

  • Phoenix Beak

    Martha

I’m terribly busy with preparing the ritual. But I’ll take a break for your sake. The next part we need to find is the head of the Golden Arrow.

Yes, this is the arrowhead we need. It was also called the beak of the phoenix - a bird born of ash, a symbol of the sun and of life.

    Santa's Workshop

  • Ray of Sunlight

    Martha

Next is the Arrow Shaft forged from sunbeams. It won’t be easy to find, but you’ll manage. I believe in you.

Oh, the shaft of the Golden Arrow... Do you feel it? Even broken, it radiates the warmth of the sun.

  • X-shaped Piece

    Martha

The second part is the Fletching Pin. It looks like the letter X. You’ll recognise it when you see it.

Did you find the Fletching Pin? Great!

    Crash Site

  • Gold Fletching

    Martha

The Shadows of Terror have returned? That can‘t be right... In the last battle, all the magicians united to cast the shadows back beyond the boundary of light. Only one weapon can do this - the Golden Arrow. But in that same battle, it split into pieces and was scattered around the City. Without your talents as a discoverer, we‘d have no chance. Find the first part - the fletching. In the meantime, I‘ll look for a restorative spell.

Yes, this is it. The fletching of the Golden Arrow that defeated the darkness.

  • Fighting Vice

    Martha

You collected all five amulets? Good. To block their strength completely we’ll need to combine them to make a statuette of the Demon of Vice. You handle that while I read the spell.

It’s over. The town’s people are free and the amulets have been neutralised. The Demon of Vice statuette safely blocks the artifacts’ power. You’ve saved the City again. Take this as a token of our gratitude.

  • Bloodthirsty Maiden

    Valerie

What? What amulet? I only found a sinister skull. And now I’m on a mission to collect the scalps, skulls and hearts of monsters! Don’t distract me! I can’t wait to kill something!

Oh, what a horrible skull... Is this what was driving me to have those bloodthirsty thoughts? How disgusting... Thank you for helping me.

    Crash Site

  • Lazy Huntress

    Huntress

An amulet? Yes, I found a genie’s lamp this morning... Find it yourself. I don’t want to get up. I think I’ll sleep a little more.

How could I lay around for so long when there are so many monsters about!? I must’ve been affected by the genie’s lamp. Danke schön for freeing me of my idleness.

    Crash Site

  • Greedy Mayor

    Mayor

You want the golden calf? Yes, I have it, but I won’t give it up. It’s mine, mine, mine! Everyone wants to take something from me. It’s my City, everything is mine!

I have to admit, I’m ashamed of my behaviour. Thank you for freeing me from the Golden Calf’s influence. Greed is a terrible vice.

    Crash Site

  • Dishonest Detective

    Detective

The Janus mask? No, I haven’t seen it. I’ve haven’t seen anything. Ever. And my eyes aren’t darting around - I’m not lying!

My mind was somehow clouded. Something forced me to lie at every opportunity. It was the Janus Mask. A despicable thing, or I’m not a detective!

  • Haughty Juliette

    Juliette

You want the idol of hubris, you pitiful little man? Yes, there was some sort of amulet on the nightstand this morning. Search if you want to. I have no interest in the affairs of the lower classes.

Monsieur... I am so ashamed of my behaviour. Forgive me, I don’t know what got into me. Martha said that I was influenced by the Idol of Hubris. I’m glad you took it away.

    Crash Site

  • Realising a Dream

    Juliette

Ah, what a wonderful thought, monsieur! I always dreamed of acting in a movie! But I don’t have the right dress for it, and I’ll need a wig too. After all, the leading lady was a brunette!

Dark hair suits me, don’t you think? And the dress fits quite well.

    Hall of Weddings

  • Valerie the Sorrowful

    Conductor

I met Valerie today and was amazed by how sad she looked. She was looking at a scrap of an old poster and lamenting that there’s no movie theatre in the City. Suddenly I had a wonderful idea - let’s shoot a film. But we need to secretly get our hands on the poster Valerie was reading - then we’ll know which film to shoot.

The title on the poster is Breakfast at Tiffany’s! Hmm... I even have an idea about who we should invite to play the main role... Juliette!

    Hall of Weddings

  • Invisible Tuning Fork

    Martha

When tuning the Organ, the Master used a creation of the great maestro Stradivari. That means that in order to play the music of Order, we need a special Stradivarius violin strung with soul strings.

This is a wonderful violin. Stradivari was a true master. Look... the violin hasn’t aged or decayed at all.

    Organ Room

  • Filming

    Conductor

You know, I’m no expert in these artistic affairs so I’ll leave the process in your hands. Hurry and shoot the film so we can bring back Valerie’s good mood.

While you were shooting the film, I prepared everything we need to show it. Valerie will be here any minute now.

  • Sounds of Order

    Martha

Now we have a Stradivarius violin. There are just a few moments left before the fiery notes will start to go out. Hurry and make the shadow tuning fork ring in unison with the melody of Order... then tune the Organ.

You did it! The Organ of Life has begun to play the beautiful music of Order. And... oh, thank the astral spheres, the werewolves have finally quietened down.

  • Headache

    Martha

It’s as if the werewolves have gone crazy today! They keep howling nonstop. It’s already given me a headache. With my mind’s eye, I saw some sort of strange golden amulet around their leader’s neck. If you can get your hands on it, then we might be able to find out why those monsters are behaving so strangely.

What a strange amulet. It’s a musical note embedded in a gold ring. Now I remember! Once, the Master sealed the Organ with this amulet, to make it play the inaudible music of Order forever.

    Organ Room

  • How did he climb up?

    Detective

Well I’ll be! What a great start! But getting up to the second floor must have been tough. The thief would have needed a rope or a ladder.

You found some rope? That’s definitely a clue! It looks like our version of events is accurate.

    Enchanted Ball

  • Unforgivable Forgetfulness

    Conductor

I’m such an idiot! There’s no way we can shoot a film without a film reel! What a shame - I don’t even know where to find one. Do you?

This is a great reel, completely new. Hurry, give it to me.

    Hall of Weddings

  • Fireproof Notebook

    Martha

The Master wrote down the unique order of the notes in a special, secret music book. The spirits don’t answer me when I ask them where it is, but I’m sure you can find it.

The book really does have a secret - its entire cover has symbols and drawings woven into it. I think there must be magic in this book that protects its pages from fire.

    Organ Room

  • Pillow Cache

    Detective

The amulet was hidden in a pillow so the thief cut open all of them. Only a straight razor could make such clean cuts. There must be one around here somewhere.

Pricey little thing. And there’s an interesting engraving on the razor - the letter C with cards all around it.

    Enchanted Ball

  • In Search of Clues

    Detective

That means the thief got into the grounds through the gate. But how did he get inside the Manor? He couldn’t have gone through the front door, that would be too risky. We need to take a look around and see if there are any clues.

You found a handprint on a second-floor window? It must belong to the thief! Let’s add it to the case file.

    Enchanted Ball

  • The Right Time

    Detective

We now have everything we need to fix the station clock. But before we wind the clock, we have to find out the right time. There’s only one correct clock left in the City – the Huntress’s pocket watch.

Great. This watch may be small, but we can trust that it shows the right time.

    Manor House Gate

  • Action!

    Conductor

Juliette will be ready very soon, but we still don’t have everything we need to shoot the film. For example, a clapperboard. Could you please find one?

Now that you’ve found the clapperboard, I think we can start.

  • Burning Music

    Martha

We have the violin we need, now we just have to figure out how to play it. The spirits told me about the fiery notes the Master used to write down the melody of Order. I’m sure you can find at least one of them.

You say the fiery note doesn’t burn your hand? How strange! But the fiery notes can’t be written onto ordinary paper; it just catches fire immediately.

    Organ Room

  • We found the thief!

    Detective

Could Cardsharp really be mixed up in this? I’ll question him. In the meantime, put all the clues into a file. If the thief doesn’t own up, it’ll be our main evidence in court.

Cardsharp cracked right away. I didn’t even have to use my special interrogation technique. Get a load of this... he stole the Amulet so he could win the big Millennium Card Tournament!

  • RUINED HANDBAG

    Detective

I wonder how the thief got into the Manor? Recently, Juliette complained that while she was walking, someone cut her handbag open and stole the key to the Manor House Gate. I think the thief might have used a sharpened coin. We need to find it!

I was right! You see how sharp the coin’s edge is? You can hide a tool like this between your fingers easily.

    Enchanted Ball

  • COGWHEEL

    Detective

That’s it - the clock has stopped because of a defective cogwheel in its main mechanism. I’m sure I remember seeing one but where...?

There it is - the cogwheel for the City clock’s main mechanism. It looks as good as new.

  • THIEF

    Detective

Where did the numbers from the City clock disappear to? I have an idea. They’re made of gold and they shine. Could it be that a cute little local creature carried them off?

Did you find the numbers? Don’t worry about it, work as long as I have and you’ll know straight away where to look for clues. Experience is more important than a police badge, friend.

    Manor House Gate

  • BEAUTY WITHOUT MAKEUP

    Juliette

There’s just one little problem - I left my makeup somewhere. I need something to put my makeup on with. Find me a makeup kit, please.

What a magnificent makeup kit. I’ve never seen so much makeup in one place. Well, gentlemen, I’m going to get ready for the film shoot.

    Hall of Weddings

  • SOUL STRINGS

    Martha

How terrible! The Stradivarius has no strings. Only an instrument strung with soul strings can play the melody of Order. Find them.

Great! The soul strings are now right where they should be - on the maestro’s violin.

    Organ Room

  • BREAKING AND ENTERING

    Detective

The window leads into a corridor... so the thief would’ve had to open the door to the room, too. You see those distinctive scratches next to the keyhole? He must have used some kind of special thieves’ tool. We need to find it.

You found a curved needle? Yes, this could be used to unlock the door. We have a resourceful thief on our hands!

    Enchanted Ball

  • TIME GAMES

    Detective

Let’s hurry and fix the station clock before temporal chaos takes over the City. Put all the parts in place!

It’s a good thing we managed to repair the station clock. Now I know that I have half an hour before I’m due to meet Juliette. Thanks!

  • A BRIBE FOR THE CONDUCTOR

    Detective

I put the numbers and the hands back on the City clock, but it still isn’t working. I think there’s something broken inside the clock. To figure out the clock’s mechanism, we’ll need a diagram of it.

The clock diagram is very detailed. Let’s take a closer look...

    Manor House Gate

  • ONE MORE

    Detective

Clocks can’t show the precise time without an hour hand. Find it.

Did you find both hands? You’re quite the detective.

  • NEW PUZZLES

    Detective

Two hands and numbers from the clock have disappeared. Without them, we can’t restore the correct passage of time. Let’s start with the minute hand.

The minute hand wasn’t so hard to find; it’s the big hand from a huge clock. Now we have to figure out a way to get it up the tower...

    Manor House Gate

  • DEFENSE FROM A GAZE

    Detective

We now have the five pieces of the Medusa’s mirror that Mistress of the Manor broke. Restore the ancient artifact and you’ll be able to travel into the past without the risk of turning into a stone sculpture.

Martha came through for us again. The Gorgon’s gaze was reflected in the mirror and did me no harm. When she saw her reflection, the Gorgon shut her eyes and froze. She’s now no longer a threat. But for how long? I hope it’s forever.

  • MIRROR GLASS

    Martha

You’ve gathered all the pieces of the mirror’s frame. We’re just missing the mirror’s glass. It is tempered with such strong magic that it can resist even the Gorgon’s gaze. Find the mirror glass.

Not a single crack or chip has appeared on the mirror glass in hundreds of years. I can feel the magical waves emanating from its surface. It was created by a mighty magician.

    Enchanted Ball

  • MEDUSA’S HEAD

    Martha

The frame is almost assembled, but we’re still missing the large central piece. It looks like it was made in the shape of Medusa’s Head. Let’s try to find it.

The golden Gorgon Medusa head mars the elegance of the other pieces. How could one look at such a mirror without a sense of horror?

    Enchanted Ball

  • CARVED ORNAMENT

    Martha

We’ve found two parts of the mirror, but there are still more to find. If you look closely, you can see that there should be an elegantly carved ornament on the frame. Find the third part of Medusa’s mirror - the Carved Ornament.

Yes! This carved ornament you’ve found perfectly matches the other mirror frame pieces we already have.

    Enchanted Ball

  • Golden Filigree

    Martha

The beauty of the ruby incrustation is a sign that the other parts of the mirror are just as elegant. Find the second part of Medusa’s mirror - the Golden Filigree.

What a spectacular thing. Imagine how rich the mirror’s creator must have been!

    Enchanted Ball

  • A Mirror for Victory

    Martha

If you still intend to return to the Manor’s past, you will need to know how to defeat the Gorgon and its withering gaze. There’s a special mirror that can protect you, but the Mistress broke it and hid the pieces in the darkest recesses of the City. The first part won’t be hard to find thanks to the ruby encrusted in it. It shines with a bloody light.

The beautiful ruby incrustation, from the frame of the Gorgon Medusa’s mirror, has been found.

    Enchanted Ball

  • A Visor for Ghosts

    Conductor

You can make some goggles out of all these stones? Well, if Martha said so, I believe it; albeit with difficulty. I don’t feel so good now that I’m about to meet a ghost. I need a dri... a lie down. Can you make the goggles yourself?

Alright, alright, I’m wearing these weird goggles. Now what? Hell’s bells! Alright, I’m convinced. Alex exists!

  • A Special Polish

    Martha

You have the amethyst and the emerald for the lenses. But you’ll need to polish the stones thoroughly. Find a special material - corundum.

You found the corundum. You have everything you need to create the spectral goggles. I think you can manage the rest without me.

    Enchanted Ball

  • A Hot Flame

    Martha

To melt the meteorite metal we’ll need a very hot flame. The kind of flame anthracite gives off when it burns. It won’t be hard to find some - the City has a good supply of it.

I told you the anthracite wouldn’t be hard to find. Yes, this should be enough.

    Enchanted Ball

  • Heavenly Metal

    Martha

The rim of the goggles is not a simple thing to make. It must be made from a material that came from the very skies themselves. Like the metal taken from a meteorite.

I see you’ve already found the meteorite metal. How did you manage to find such rare items so quickly?

    Enchanted Ball

  • Left Lens

    Martha

The left lens must be made from amethyst. Only this stone will give the wearer the ability to see into the spectral realm.

Such a beautiful amethyst. It almost seems a shame to ruin a stone of such purity. But we have no other choice.

    Enchanted Ball

  • Right Lens

    Martha

The Conductor can see ghosts using a pair of special spectral goggles. But we have to create them first and I don’t have time to do it. I’ll tell you what we need, but you’ll have to make them yourself. First, find an emerald. That’s what you’ll use to make the right lens.

You already found the emerald? Wonderful. It will make an excellent lens for the spectral goggles.

    Enchanted Ball

  • Healing Ritual

    Mayor

The sun is already setting! Fortunately, we have everything we need to perform the healing ritual. Let’s begin.

The colour in Valerie’s cheeks is coming back. And the vampire bat bites have faded entirely. It’s as if they’d never been. The ritual was a success.

  • Huntress’s Secret

    Mayor

The Huntress is sure to have some silver bullets in her armoury. You should start your search with her.

These bullets are so shiny. The Huntress said that these are the last ones she has, but she’s happy to give them away if it means saving Valerie.

  • Garlic

    Mayor

The next item on the list is garlic. I doubt it will be easy to find - unless, one of the monsters in the City has some. They sometimes keep the most surprising things.

With the garlic, we only have three of the ingredients. You’re too slow, my friend!

    Secret Room

  • Sacred Word

    Mayor

Where can you find the sacred book, you ask? You can find anything in the City if you search well enough - even that book! I can’t say anything more than that.

You brought the book? Great! Valerie is getting worse. I can’t even see her reflection in the mirror anymore.

  • Turning Back the Clock

    Mayor

Valerie is getting more pale with each passing minute. She could die before you collect the remaining items for the ritual. A time-loop amulet could help her. It will turn the clock back an hour. Find it for Valerie’s sake.

There... the clock has turned back an hour. Valerie looks a lot better!

    Secret Room

  • Holy Water

    Mayor

We had some holy water here before, but over time, it has all evaporated. But if you go into the past, you can easily collect a bottle of it.

We found the holy water... that’s a good start. But there’s a lot of work ahead, so hurry.

  • Improved Vision

    Mayor

Only a few people have ever survived bites from the vampire bats. But as to how, I don’t remember. Wait - I’m sure the Collector kept records. He’s sure to hold the answers you seek.

Yes, here’s the description of the ritual. It has to be performed no later than sunset on the same day the victim was attacked. You’ll need a sacred book, holy water, a wooden stake, garlic and silver bullets.

  • Terrible News

    Isabelle

Did you say Valerie was bitten by unusual bats? I fear they were vampire bats from the distant catacombs. You’d better ask the Mayor about them. Although, we’re going to need one of the City’s relics to summon his spirit.

Now you can summon the Mayor’s spirit and question him thoroughly.

  • Find the Wooden Stake.

    Conductor

I heard you need a wooden stake. I had one, but I don’t anymore. I traded it with the Wanderer yesterday for a lucky horseshoe. Hopefully he hasn’t had time to give it to anyone else yet!

There’s the wooden stake! The same one I was talking about! Take the horseshoe as well. It should bring you luck.

  • Let There be Light

    Valerie

Of course! If I had a lantern, I could leave here and find something for Edward to eat.

This is just the kind of lantern I need! Look, the wounds from the bats’ bites have gotten larger and become inflamed. They hurt terribly. We need to ask Isabelle about these bats; she’s the anomaly expert around here.

  • New Owners

    Detective

Since the dead like this brooch so much, I doubt Juliette will ever want to wear it again. Let’s hurry up and give it to the mummies so we can forget this terrible story.

As soon as I lowered the rope, a bandaged hand shot out of the darkness and carried the package off into the catacombs! The mummies no longer have any reason to attack Juliette or trouble the poor girl!

  • A Cunning Plan

    Detective

I suggest we put all the pieces of the brooch into a parcel along with the amulet, and leave it in the catacombs. But, if I’m honest, I have no desire whatsoever to go down there. Of course, we could lower the package down using a rope. Do you have any rope?

Well done my friend! We have the rope! We’re almost there!

  • Phoenix the Restorer

    Detective

Hmm... the brooch is completely broken and only magic can restore it. I once saw someone repair a broken Chinese vase using the Phoenix amulet. We should try and find this wonderful thing.

This is very useful, It’ll be a shame to give it away. But we can’t use it ourselves - as soon as we combine all the pieces of the brooch, the mummies will swarm us. There’s a whole crowd of them in the City.

  • Mummies and Antiquities

    Detective

Just as I suspected! The attack on Juliette was perpetrated by a mummy. We need to return the brooch to the mummies otherwise they’ll come for it again. But the brooch is still broken - the central gemstone is missing. Let’s look for it.

That wasn’t easy. In spite of everything, we’ve got the gemstone!

  • Memorise the Criminal

    Detective

I just had a thought - maybe we should look for the Keeper of Blood? Even one drop is enough for the Keeper to memorise it forever! The trouble is, I have no idea where to find him.

Now that we have the Keeper, let’s put in the drop of blood, the revealing solution and... Well would you look at that - it’s green. Green means the blood belongs to a zombie. A zombie? It’s probably time to ask Juliette what this strange brooch actually is.

  • Return What Was Stolen

    Detective

Well, we’ll have to continue our search... Oh no! Some sort of monster just grabbed something shiny on the ground and ran off into an alleyway! It could have been a piece of the brooch!

Let’s inspect our trophies. I think this gold plate is what we’re looking for. But it doesn’t have any blood on it either! Has our investigation reached a dead end?

  • In Search of a Brooch.

    Detective

I fear that one drop of blood isn’t enough for an investigation! Blood might have gotten on the other parts of the brooch too! Let’s find them. We should probably start with the pendant.

I’ve inspected the pendant from Juliette’s brooch. It doesn’t have a speck of blood on it!

  • Investigative Methods

    Detective

Juliette was attacked? And the criminal’s blood is on this needle? But how can we identify the attacker without a laboratory!? I’ve heard about a special revealing solution that can show us whether this blood belongs to a man or a monster. At least that’s something. Could you find it for me?

Bingo! We have the Revealing Solution. Look at the key on the back: blue means the blood belongs to a man, red a monster, green a zombie and yellow means a ghost.

  • Golden Needle

    Juliette

When the villain grabbed me, the brooch must have come undone and pricked him! If we find the brooch’s needle, with traces of blood on it, then monsieur Detective will surely be able to find out who that madman was and what he wanted!

You see, monsieur? There are drops of blood on the needle! It must be the blood of the man who attacked me in the fog! I’m sure he had terrible intentions!

    Crash Site

  • Attack in the Fog.

    Juliette

You need evidence?! Please... I had a brooch on my collar, but It fell onto the sidewalk, ringing against the stone. If we find the brooch, then will you believe that I was attacked?

Oh! This is the filigree rim from my brooch. My family heirloom has been broken!

  • News From Spirits

    Juliette

Let’s sit down for a minute. I’m so worried. What if he doesn’t come!? No, Martha said quite confidently that it would be this evening. But she didn’t say when exactly in the evening. Oh, kind spirits of the City, send me some news!

Look, a note! Such fine paper, but there’s no signature. This is a love letter from him. He writes that he’ll be here at ten o’clock. But it’s already ten o’clock! Monsieur, I’m very grateful for your help, but could you leave now? Hurry, go, go!

  • Finishing Touch

    Juliette

Don’t you think that my outfit is still missing something? I need some sort of little flourish, a finishing touch, but I can’t quite put my finger on what that should be. A fan, you say? Do you know where to find one?

This fan is simply luxurious. It completes my outfit. Wonderful! I’m ready!

  • Footwear For a Queen

    Juliette

The dress is ready, but I still don’t have anything to put on my feet. A pair of small glass slippers would really match my outfit perfectly!

Thank you for the slippers, monsieur, and for agreeing to help a lady in distress.

  • Cloth of Gold

    Juliette

It would be so nice to have a beautiful evening dress as well. I saw one recently in the City, but I can’t remember where. You’ll recognise it right away - cloth of gold, blue satin and lace... No man could be indifferent to it.

Ah, you found the dress! Will my dream really come true? The anticipation of love is so sweet. Monsieur, you are a true knight!
