marketable securities
Mr. Black
Let's look for information on Broderick at the bank. I would first examine the promissory note he purchased. The handwriting might give us some idea of what kind of person this man is.
Well, that's interesting. The handprints are scrawled in burning ink. I can't even tell how much pressure was applied or the details of the handwriting. Was this done on purpose?
-
Magic call
Mr. Black
Whenever I come here, I always hear the call of magic. Even though the magic of the Upper City was broken long ago. Do you feel the electricity wafting through the air? This place is filled with energy. We need to check it out.
The inside of the bank appears spacious due to an optical illusion. Amazing!
-
Creepy friend.
Vera
I feel sorry for Yenko. I can't imagine how worried he is about his sister. If Lucas were gone, I...I don't even want to talk about it...there are so many strange things in Tilly's room. There could be clues to her escape... like that weird totem, for example. Can you help me get it?
Thanks for taking the totem. I couldn't reach it with my back. This little statue is made of meteoric iron and looks a bit ominous... oh, there's a carving here! 'Those who dare to go in the dark see others differently. How do people look in your eyes?" Who gave Tilly this creepy gift?
-
be vigilant
Carlos Light
Vila is a child who doesn't know how to relax. She's been that way since she was a little girl. I'm glad we're able to put her at ease. We'll install a special security bell in her hiding place. I thought I brought it with me, but I forgot where I put it. Can you help me find it?
You've already found the security bell! I made this one myself. It's based on a drawing that Vila did a long time ago. It contains a trained rat that can take notes on visitors and give them to Vila. That way, that little girl could see her guests only when she wanted to. No more uninvited guests!

A new catastrophe
Mayor
Thanks to the collectors, the city was able to recover from the earthquake. But then another disaster struck. Was it a criminal plot, I don't know. The collectors were building some kind of device... a prototype of which I believe is still in existence. You can look for it.
This is probably a prototype of a "wishing device". I am told that the collector had someone help him build this. This device probably has something to do with the "distortion" or the fog that engulfed the city.
-
Projects that did not materialize
Detective
What do you mean? Are you saying that the collector was helping people rather than kidnapping them? I've been going through some old documents and it seems there was a plan to build a monument to him. I don't believe it!
He certainly looks like a collector. He was actually a bit shorter and not as muscular. The plan was approved but never realized...and I have a feeling the reason is very important.
-
Power of the Earth
Martha
You surely realize that grass grows through even stones. It is the work of the spirit of the earth. Please, find it.
Be careful, don't get your clothes dirty. The spirit of the earth is not very clean. They represent fertile black soil.
-
flying boat
Mayor
After the earthquake, part of the city was cut off by a deep rift. We at City Hall were desperate to somehow restore communications, but a collector quickly solved this problem. His model of the airship should still be here today. Please look for it.
The collector designed an airship that would allow us to interact again with the Upper City beyond the cracks. He was not a villain, but a brilliant and gifted scientist!
-
one step at a time
Miss Izzy
The monster either escaped or hid. But where? The hairball was on a fishing net hanging near the basement door, but there was no one in the basement, and... wait, there's another window open. The monster has left the house. Let's check out more footprints in the snow!
Yay! You found footprints! They look like human footprints, but they are not the footprints of a city dweller. We may have found out who the owner of these footprints is. If you're right, we're not in any danger!
-
Winter clothes
Detective
I agree with Miss Izzy. There is something odd about this monster. It doesn't break anything or steal food, it only takes warm clothes. We need more evidence. I found something tangled in a fishing net that was hanging near the basement... but there are white hairs in the lumps. Help me get it off!
Buddy, that furball you took is the best evidence we have! The monster got caught on the hook. The monster ran away when it heard the homeowner come home. And the monster is not a werewolf. Because if it was, it would have attacked someone! But why would this hairy monster want warm clothes...
-
House on the reef
Miss Izzy
Did you notice that the monster who rifled through the closet is quite a bit more picky? According to the owner, all that's missing are a few sweaters, a scarf, and a jacket. This may be an odd guess, but... maybe this monster was just cold?
I agree with Miss Izzy. There is something odd about this monster. It doesn't break anything or steal food, it only takes warm clothes. We need more evidence. I found something tangled in a fishing net that was hanging near the basement... but there are white hairs in the lumps. Help me get it off!
-
Doors for monsters
Detective
The horses are already gathering to watch us hunt the monsters. They've already trampled all over the monster's tracks! What the hell, let's just do what we can. The homeowner says one of the windows was open. Let's check it out.
Good thing we found the open window so quickly. Well... that's odd. The locks haven't been picked. See the latch? That's a forced-open mark. It's as if some large object pushed, broke, and climbed through the window.
-
blurred figure
Miss Izzy
A mysterious monster is severely upsetting people in the city. I'm lucky someone showed up at my house to say they witnessed it. Look! The witness also sent me a photo he took in a hurry. Can you guess what's in the picture?
I can't really tell what it is because the picture is so blurry. The person who took this picture said it might be an ice werewolf, but I think not. This silhouette looks more like a human rather than a wolf.
-
Frozen cold air
Miss Izzy
As the new Santa, it is my duty to regain the trust of the elves. The elven glassmakers pride themselves on their ability to melt even the most ancient ice. To show my appreciation, I need some Lapland glass, and I need you to find it for me.
Did you find the glass in Lapland? I don't know how to thank you! This isn't real glass, it's dragon's breath that has been frozen in place for thousands of years. I'm sure the elven glassmakers will come back to us when we present them with this material!
-
Fadeless beauty
Juliette
I hope Miss Izzy can solve the problem with the elves and the elves will come back to make presents. Last year I got a present made of nice frost wood. If I can find that material, maybe the elf carpenter will forgive Miss Izzy?
What a beautiful frost tree! It's as if it has absorbed the glistening morning light from the frost. Miss Izzy says this tree changes color with the temperature. I'm sure the elf carpenter will be pleased!
-
Taste of Winter
Miss Izzy
Maybe you too have noticed that this year's pastries don't taste as good as they should. The elven pastry makers haven't come back either. Maybe if I send them some ice cherries, they might come back, but I can't find any. But maybe you could find some?
You found ice cherries! These are the kind of cherries that only ripen under the northern light, and you are very lucky to have found them. Hopefully the ice cherries will interest the elven pastry chefs to come back.
-
a gentle breeze of the arts
Juliette
Miss Izzy is doing her best to get the elves back. I'll have to help out too. The new Santa says he can use the wind he catches to make the elves' toy planes fly. Let's find a container for the wind!
The wind caught in this container, it's like it's dancing! Miss Izzy says the elves love working with this wind. The kids love it when the wind shakes their flying toys. I'm sure the elves will accept this gift!
-
Clock's outer frame
Miss Izzy
Maybe Juliette is right. Maybe we can convince the elves to give us a gift. First, the elven watchmakers who designed the gift-making machine. Maybe they would be convinced by the watch stones? Maybe you can help me find them.
Thanks for finding the watch stone! This is a very rare crystal and it keeps time perfectly. With it, the elves can create a perfect and eternally unbreakable machine. I hope you will take it and forgive me.
-
hair-raising figure
Valerie
I'm so excited about the game day! I'll have to make sure I don't drop anything. Have you ever seen a role-playing game villain? I'm talking about the artifact that takes the form of a hideous monster with ominous blizzard eyes. Can you spot it?
You found the eye of the blizzard! Isabelle helped me make this artifact, and it's so creepy, isn't it? The Eye of the Blizzard represents the evil that lies in the heart of the frozen earth, the Eternal Freeze. This is the boss we will meet at the end of the game!
-
irresistible flavor
Juliette
Whew, I was almost late getting ready for the game night! I'm a good cook, so Valerie has asked me to prepare the appetizers. I got the cake and marshmallows ready... but where are the bent straws for the drinks? Didn't you see them somewhere? I'm sure it's left with the snacks.
Thanks for finding the straws. I was beginning to think I might have forgotten it! Isn't this straw beautiful? When Valerie told me about drinking hot cocoa, I immediately thought of these straws. Thanks to magic, I can have a hot drink without burning myself!
-
Dice of Fate
Valerie
Preparations for the game night are going well. Hope you guys like the scenario I've created. Oh, I completely forgot! Have you seen the dice tower? I wanted to give everyone a fair roll of the dice!
This tower of dice is amazing! According to the card cheaters, it magically protects them from players who cheat. With this dice tower, a fair game is guaranteed and everyone will have fun!
-
What shines in the darkness
Helen
Did you hear from Valerie about the game night? I'm making a map of the stars all year round and I'm really looking forward to the upcoming meeting... By the way, Valerie has asked me to pick out a bright lamp to light at night. Would you please help me find one?
It's a nice lamp! The light is as soft as moonlight. It reminds me of a nightlight with a nebula pattern that my father made for me when I was a little girl. Valerie said that this lamp would help make role-playing more exciting.
-
off the map
Valerie
After all, Christmas is all about the games, right? Miss Izzy has a hard time letting off steam, so that's where we come in! If we're going to play table talk games, we're going to need a map of the Ice Land. I have a map drying nearby. Can you find it and bring it to me?
This map of the icy lands is so beautiful, I made it out of the unmelted snow I learned from Miss Izzy a while ago. If you are lucky, you can even find treasures on this map!
-
confetti
Miss Izzy
I watch the people of the city in the department stores making their wonderful toys and hope that their joy reaches the city and they'll forgive me... a belief in Santa is something that should never be extinguished... maybe an endless "bong reel" would help add to the holiday spirit. I'm sure you'll be able to help me get in the mood for the holidays. Please bring it here!
My endless ribbon reel...thanks for finding it. This is the first artifact I ever made. When I was little I used to wish I could celebrate Christmas with everyone every year. I may have been wrong this time, but at least I can bring a little joy to the people in my town!
-
A multicolored wonder
Adeline Svensson
It seems that by inviting the people of the city to the department store, Miss Izzy will allow them to experience the miracle of creating a magic toy. I hope the city likes this initiative and will help us to reactivate the machine. Can we help too? For example, maybe we could paint something! Maybe find some Christmas paint?
The paint you found is absolutely amazing! It's constantly changing colors and looks great on any surface. I loved coloring my wooden toys as a kid. Do you think it still comes in handy today? I feel like the Christmas I've been waiting for is finally within reach!
-
Cloak of the King of the Arctic
Miss Izzy
Before I can ask you to reactivate the machine, I have to give the city a nice gift. But what if giving the people of the city the magic of the department store isn't enough...? I'm sorry. I'm very worried. Frost Lion's fur is getting tangled up too... can you help me untie the knots?
How do you untangle a frosted lion's pelt so quickly? The soft fur of this pelt is slippery and tangles easily. Frost Lions grow new fur every year, and the elves in the department store came up with the idea of using their elegant fur to make toys!
-
Ice Waltz
Adeline Svensson
Miss Izzy is determined to fix the damage we've done to Christmas. Let's all work together to help. Otherwise, even we don't deserve to enjoy the holidays! Miss Izzy explained to our new visitors about the dancing needles. Let's look for it together.
You found a needle that dances! This needle moves on its own, following the mental commands of the person holding it. They're perfect for stitching and even embroidering! Equipped with this needle, the city's visitors to the department store will be able to create their dream toys and remember the joy of Christmas!
-
Creator of Light
Miss Izzy
I need to give the city a gift. Then the city can share the magic and get the department store machinery working again. To do that, I need to get the city back into the Christmas spirit so they can create their own magic. First, find the molds for the light bulbs together!
I needed the mold for this light bulb! Magic flows through every tool in the department store. With this mold, even someone with no magical talent at all would be able to create a light bulb that would never break. It would light up the city instead of the dazzling floral decorations I'd installed!
-
Hymns of Remembrance
Miss Izzy
I'm ashamed that I let the people in town down by not understanding anything about the true nature of Christmas. But regret doesn't make anything better. Adeline told me that a lot of people associate Christmas with music. I'd like to hear some Christmas music. Can you help me find just the right piano?
You've found your holiday piano! The Christmas melodies you play on this piano are like an unfamiliar magic that fills your heart. Adeline told me that many people play the piano for their loved ones on Christmas Day. I want to play for someone too!
-
Just right for hugging.
Miss Izzy
Thanks to you and Adeline, I think I'm beginning to understand that the "essence of Christmas" resides in happy memories and the spirit of unity. To help me understand more, Adeline told me to look at the Christmas cushions. Can you find the cushion for me?
These Christmas cushions are so fluffy! Adeline told me that everyone likes to gather around the fireplace surrounded by these cushions. We tell stories, play board games, and reminisce by the fire, making the joy of Christmas even greater.
-
ray of hope
Adeline Svensson
Miss Izzy was a little overzealous in her Christmas preparations. But she missed the most important thing: warmth. Look at all the decorations and floral arrangements around town. There are just too many of them, and they make the holidays seem lighter. Can't you find a candle decoration? I'll use it to help Miss Izzy realize her mistake.
What a lovely candle decoration! Candlelight enhances family gatherings on Christmas Day. Bright lights are nice, but most people prefer a little light in the house. Miss Izzy needs to understand that bright is not always better on Christmas Day.
-
Messages delivered from the snow
Miss Izzy
Adeline wants to show me what Christmas is all about. I have to observe the holidays from all perspectives and understand what everyone expects of Christmas. Earlier Adeline borrowed a bag from a tired mailman. She wanted me to take a look at it. We'll go over it together.
This bag is so stuffed with contents. I thought it would be filled with flyers for public celebrations and advertisements, but it's full of personal letters, beautifully stamped, glittery with lame, with pictures of children... Christmas is a time when everyone thinks of their loved ones, even if they can't see them in person.
-
one who entertains guests
Adeline Svensson
We face the important task of showing Miss Izzy how important Christmas is to people. Help Santa's successor to truly feel the Christmas spirit. First, look for a gorgeously decorated gate. The brighter the better!
You found a great gate! Thank you! I'll use this to show Miss Izzy the first aspect of Christmas - everyone's desire to invite visitors into their homes. By sharing the festive air with our guests, we bring joy to each other.
-
Ruined mood
Mistress
I see that it was you who became the assistan of this fledgling Miss Izzy. This girl knows nothing about the true meaning of Christmas. She brought me a present on an unsightly sled and made a mess of my precious garden decorations! Look at you, look at you!
You see that? My handmade decorations have been cruelly broken! I spent a month making them to celebrate Christmas properly, and now they're all ruined because of this Miss Izzy's lame sledding! Please explain to this silly girl how and when she should give her presents!
-
New Year's Prophecy
Martha
So you are helping Miss Izzy realize her own mistakes? I saw her in my crystal ball. Santa's successor was busy and confused. Her gift to me was off the mark, too. I had it nearby, but I got distracted by the jolly genie and forgot where I put it... can you help me find the horoscope for the year?
Thanks for helping me find my horoscope. What you have in your hand is like a silly joke. You don't give something like that to a fortune teller. Besides, no one wants to get their horoscope in advance. The city's stars are always changing, so a pre-made horoscope is useless.
-
Coal on snow
Conductor
Oh, the new Santa wants to hear what you think of your gifts? Yeah, I received some really unnecessary stuff this year. I hope Miss Izzy and the others understand. I brought you a present, but I guess I got distracted talking and left it somewhere. Can you help me find my snow white gloves?
As you can see, these gloves are whiter than snow. Sure they are soft and comfortable to wear. But I work in coal dust. This glove would get dirty in an instant. So I decide to return this gift to Miss Izzy. There is still time before Christmas. There will be plenty of time to make it someone else's present.
-
interesting taste
Valerie
So you're saying Miss Izzy is the new Santa? Awesome! I really like her modern take on Christmas. But can I say one important thing, using the gifts Eddie and I received this year as an example? Anyway, look at the presents!
You know what's funny about this gift? Eddie got this meat snack, but he doesn't eat meat! And I got him ski goggles, but if he gets them long before the holiday season, he won't have a chance to use them for a while<, so the joy of the surprise is halved. The timing of the gift is important!
-
Dangerous Feathers
Juliette
Adeline tells me that you and Santa's successor are collecting feedback from people in town about their gifts. I don't know much about Santa, but I'll help! Miss Izzy gave me a fashionable handbag. Let's check it out together.
Geez! I'm sorry, you scared me! There's a big moth perched on my handbag. Sure, it's a fashionable item, but I'm just a maid and there's no place I'd go out with it. Besides, I hate bugs. I'll leave this one to my mistress. Oh, and don't tell Miss Izzy. I don't want her to be sad.
-
Miracle Powder
Adeline Svensson
I bow to Miss Izzy's hard work. As Santa, she's accomplished so much in a very short time and hasn't lost her enthusiasm. But I feel that she has overlooked some things... like this new concentrated cocoa, for example. Take a taste.
How did the concentrated cocoa taste? From the look on your face, it doesn't sound good. Miss Izzy has changed the process. The cocoa made with this powder is too sweet. I asked her why she put so much sugar in it, and she said because kids like it better. But even kids don't like this taste!
-
Voices of the Holidays
Miss Izzy
I was trying to figure out how to get the gifts delivered faster and I ran into one problem. Without the elves I sent out on vacation, there was a good chance I wouldn't be able to deliver all the gifts. So I changed one thing! I think there was a Christmas loudspeaker around here somewhere, can you help me find it?
Thanks for looking for the loudspeaker! In order to get everything done on time, I've decided to only deliver the big, expensive gifts in person so that everyone else can pick up their gifts here at the department store. The loudspeaker is needed to keep the line in order when the line gets too big.
-
blank (unwritten) greeting
Miss Izzy
I was so happy when I was appointed as Santa. Because there is so much room to try new ideas and innovations! My principle is "cut where you can cut. First of all, it's about manual labor. Can you pass me that blank postcard? I'll show you something good.
Nice postcards, right? But there are so many problems with postcards! Santa has to write each letter by hand, which is very time consuming. So we decided to replace them with versatile postcards that are pre-written, with only the name field left blank. See, I can write so much faster!
-
fire and ice
Adeline Svensson
Looks like Miss Izzy is working hard to perfect her job as our new Santa. Her sleigh isn't being pulled by magic reindeer anymore, but it's flying faster than the wind! How does that work? Help me find Miss Izzy's sled. I want to see it with my own eyes!
You found the sled! Well, well, well... Miss Izzy must have replaced the reindeer with a magic engine. That's how they deliver presents so fast. The engine looks Christmassy, and instead of smoke, it spews out sparkles like fireworks... but that doesn't make up for the lack of reindeer. Doesn't it?
-
Right direction
Miss Izzy
When I took over Santa's job, I first looked into how my predecessors did things and then thought of ways to improve upon them. The thing that bothered me the most was the manual sorting of gifts. So, in order to optimize that process, I built this machine called the distributor. Here, take a look.
My distributor carefully examines each gift to determine who needs that gift the most. This way, he said, I wouldn't get gifts I didn't need! Then I let the elves out of work and sent them on vacation. They all tried to say no, but I pushed through.
-
The Essence of Magic
Adeline Svensson
I need lots of eye-catching photos to use for the article. Santa's successor is a powerful winter wizard, so she must have a special artifact, a winter magic catalyst. Can you help me convince Miss Izzy to show me the magic catalyst?
What a beautiful catalyst! We are so lucky to have Miss Izzy to show us. Just be careful not to touch it with your bare hands! I heard from a professor at the Christmas school that only the owner can touch these artifacts, and if anyone else touches them, they get frostbite.
-
Meticulous craftsmanship
Miss Izzy
Why did Santa choose me? That's easy. The rules forbid me to tell you why, but I'm sure it was because of my academic success! For my special achievement, I even received a grouse brooch. I still have it. Take a look and I'll tell you what it means.
I'm so proud of this brooch. I really should hang it up, but I still want to wear it. It is a special award I received at Christmas school. The Hata Ori Dollar is a symbol of hard work. That's why it's only made for the valedictorian. And that representative is me.
-
Layers upon layers.
Miss Izzy
I know an interview would be something to brag about, but I'm going to be honest with you. Do you think I make mistakes? Yes, I do make mistakes, but really only occasionally. For example, the look of the present. I can't do everything perfectly at the moment, so I have spare wrapping. There you go.
I keep a spare package of presents in case one of the wrappings comes off. I have to make sure that Santa's gifts are delivered in perfect condition, no matter what, so I always have them ready to go in case of a mistake.
-
New Taste
Adeline Svensson
Miss Izzy is very concerned about the time. Have you noticed how she keeps glancing at her watch? And she has lots of ideas. For example, she's come up with a new stick that's smaller and tastes better than ever. Here, I've got two right here, want to taste them?
I didn't expect it to be this sour! Well, the tag says "lime". But it doesn't taste like Christmas. I'll have to tell the new Santa to pay more attention to the recipe. But don't be harsh. Everyone makes mistakes.
-
Reproduction of artisan
Miss Izzy
The cardboard reindeer are the centerpiece of this place, which may sound far-fetched, so let me explain. You can pick out any pair of reindeer you want. There are about 100 of them on the premises of this department store. It looks simple, but it's very effective, and I'll tell you why.
The pair you chose is the handsomest reindeer. Let's take a picture! Unlike live reindeer, cardboard reindeer don't need to feed or sleep. Plus, people in town won't have to wait in line to get their Christmas pictures taken! I'm sure everyone will appreciate this idea.
-
Samurai Tales
Adeline Svensson
I don't get it. Shouldn't a Christmas department store be a holiday paradise? Where you can feed the reindeer, ride the slides, and warm up with a cup of hot cocoa? Who would want to get lost on the conveyor rail? I think that's the manager's office. Maybe Miss Izzy is waiting for us inside?
We finally arrived! Look at all the gadgets and buttons! It looks like you could set up a merry-go-round or an arcade game just by touching them. But that won't make it any more fun. That woman doesn't even try to make it look like Christmas. I'll ask her to make the place more enjoyable!
-
scrubbing and washing
Adeline Svensson
This time I followed the card scammer's every move to find out what dangerous things he was up to. The card scammer is not a walker, but he walked to the banks of the River of Oblivion, put something in his bucket, and came back humming a tune. Did you see where he put the bucket?
Yes, that's the bucket the credit card scammers took to the river of oblivion. Be careful. He may have baited and caught an aquatic monster. What, the bucket only contains water from the river? If so, why would the card cheater need something like this?
-
Hot Topics
Adeline Svensson
I'm pretty sure the credit card scammer is up to something shady, but I can't find any direct leads. I did spot him taking a bulb of garlic to the suburbs. The garlic was fogged overnight and then retrieved by the card scammer in the morning. Let's check it out.
Wow, the fog has completely changed the shape of the garlic! Look, it's blackish and doesn't even smell good. I'm not a vampire, but I wouldn't try it. And I don't think even the monsters in town would be attracted to this garlic bait. I wonder if the card cheaters have decided to summon a new beast?
-
vanishing sweetness
Adeline Svensson
I saw a card scammer with some ghost sugar. It's something you can make from sugar cane along the canals in town. It doesn't taste good to humans, but the miner trades ghost sugar for rare artifacts. Bring me some and I'll see what I can trade for it.
I'm so glad you got Ghost Sugar. It's not sweet, but it's very pretty. The miner didn't want this sugar, but the gargoyle almost took it from him. Maybe the card cheater is making bait to catch the monster... I doubt he would admit to such a thing unless he was caught red-handed.
-
Underground greenery
Adeline Svensson
I also saw a card scammer come out of the dungeon. Very suspicious! Then he went to the harvest festival with a jar of something green. He didn't have it when he left, so that means he's hiding it somewhere. Let's find out what it is!
This investigation would not be possible without your help! The jar of herbs you found was in the possession of the card scammer. The grocer said it was rosemary, but it's not regular rosemary. This is a variety that only grows in the shade. I'm sure he got it from the dungeon. The card cheater must have needed it to make some kind of potion.
-
Secret Fruits
Adeline Svensson
The card cheater is obviously up to something dangerous. We spotted him heading to a harvest festival in the middle of the night. Seems like odd behavior, don't you think? I tried following him yesterday, but I lost him in the dark. But he dropped something. I think it was an apple. Can you go find it?
It really was an apple! Thanks for finding it. What's so funny? It's shaped a bit like a butterfly in the night, but... oh! I remember now. This is a night apple. One of the rare fruits sold at the festival. Night apples grow on the border of fog. Don't eat them.
-
What eats pumpkin
Detective
The guy from Dub Deal, don't you think he's awfully keen on finding monsters? He said he saw a carnivorous plant eating a pumpkin. I haven't found anything to corroborate that testimony yet, but let's find out what kind of carnivorous plant it is.
Look, it really is a carnivorous plant! Watch your hands. They can bite...what, just a pumpkin in the shape of a turban? Hmmm, sure, it's shaped like a turban when you flip it over. But Double Deal says we should exclude this pumpkin from the contest and examine it carefully.
-
Rough surface variety
Roger Doubledeal
Have you found any more monsters mixed in with the pumpkins? I did find one strange one. It is a rough-skinned creature, like a sea monster. If I were in your shoes, I would find out what it is. You are responsible for the safety of the people of this city. Find that sea monster.
So you found a sea monster! It may be a pumpkin, but it should be worth checking out for magic. I've heard that some monsters are good at mimicking non-living things. 'Did you bring this from the odd vegetable contest? I see. Safety first, you know.
-
hide and deceive
Detective
You can never be too careful. If the pumpkins look like monsters, then actual monsters could be mixed in there and even attack citizens during the festival. There is something lurking in the pumpkin. A snake or a bird of prey? Let's catch the monster.
What did you catch? A monster or another pumpkin? Hmmm... this one's a Tsurukubi pumpkin. It looks like a hideous monster with eyes that are plotting something, like it's mocking us. It must be a rare vegetable, but let's leave it out of our investigation until we get the full picture.
-
Vigilant Citizens.
Roger Doubledeal
I hear you are looking for a monster hidden in a pumpkin. No, I have a good intuition and I had a feeling that you were. Let me give you some information. I saw a scary goblin peeking out from behind a pumpkin. Look for them. Such a good tracker, I don't think the goblin will be able to get away with it.
Yes, this is the head of the dreaded goblin that was mixed in with the vegetables. What, is it some kind of pumpkin called Warty Beauty? Well, okay. My job is to warn you. I'm glad I was able to get there in time. It could have been a real goblin.
-
Capture and neutralization
Detective
We have a particularly good harvest this year. There are a lot of unusual vegetables on display at the festival here. I've never seen anything like this before, but watch out for the pumpkins. There could be monsters hiding inside. Look, that one is barely even hidden. See that green alligator? We're going to catch it!
All right, I got the alligator! Did it bite you? What's that, it's a pumpkin! Well, it's definitely just a vegetable. It looks very strange, but I'm pretty sure it's not a monster. It's a blue hubbard, a kind of pumpkin, apparently. They say it's well rooted in the city. Oh well, we'll keep an eye on it.

hot reaction
Mistress
Juliette made me a pot of tea using her new teapot. The tea wasn't bad, but when I tried to scold her I got choked up. Twice. I got so fed up with the boring magical prank that I broke the teapot. But Juliet told me they sell such pots at festivals. Bring me one. I'll check it out.
I'm sure it was this brightly colored teapot that the "Mere Old Man" broke. Even the sensation of a graze in the throat is the same. I'm going to find out what kind of magic is in this teapot. ...Surprisingly, there is no magic in this teapot. There is only the earthly energy of the clay and the enthusiasm of the potter. Another joy of creativity. I'm sick of it!

bountiful harvest
Mistress
Positive magic is everywhere. It's a good scheme, no doubt. Even Juliette is feeling better these days...and it's annoying. She's praising the vegetables, telling them how delicious they are. It's not like Juliette. Bring me the vegetables you got at the harvest festival. I'll see if they've been drugged.
Don't bring those vegetables too close to me. I can see they're full of the sun's energy and it's not good for my skin. It's funny... all we have is nature's magic. The Autumn Goddess is a nature magician, so she's still a suspect.
-
Fluffy and comfortable
Mistress
Juliette didn't have time to sew, but I found a pumpkin-shaped cushion on her armchair. It must have been magic because it was so soft and comfortable. I couldn't stand it, so I threw it out the window. The gargoyle took the cushion, but the pumpkin cushion might be a clue. Can you go get it back for me?
I'm pretty sure I found this pumpkin cushion on the armchair. Did you get it back from the gargoyle? What, do they have these cushions at fall festivals? So silly Juliette was seduced by this magic at the festival. I'll check out the magic then... oh dear... it's the joy of creativity!
-
The Goddess Conspiracy
Mistress
I love flowers. Surprised? Not really. Flowers give me energy. The problem now is that flowers have so much energy that I'm allergic to them. Maybe it's magic. Go find some fall flowers. Juliette is getting a lot of flowers from somewhere.
You're right! You look just like the flowers that annoy me. Can you sense the positive energy that comes from this flower? Let's take a look at the source of that energy. Oh... just sun and rain, that's nature's magic. Is my enemy the Goddess of Autumn?
-
Morning Singing
Mistress
There is no doubt that someone is up to something bad with me. There's been a bird chirping uncomfortably at my window all day. I've had a terrible headache. Make sure that little rascal is enchanted.
The bird that has been squawking noisily at me all day is surely Ts" This is her, isn't it? Let me see. Don't worry, if it's not magic, it won't hurt you. Well, it's not magical. No wonder he's so healthy and full of energy. It's just so obnoxious.
-
healthy signal
Inspector
Navigating the magical maze with portals is like swimming in an endless ocean. I'm thinking of building a signal because lost people need a signal to get home safely. To do that, I need cider and stepladders. Can you help me find them?
Yes, that's it! Now if we put the Ipple cider on this sturdy stepladder, it should look like a signal. People in town wouldn't miss this. And by no means is it because the scent is enhanced by the magic of the Goddess of Autumn!
-
get one's teeth into (metaphorically)
Adeline Svensson
Crows flock to the maze to eat the fresh corn. Sprinkled with magic and baked to a golden brown, the corn attracts them. I tied it to a fishing pole and held it up high for all to see. Do you see the markers on the corn I made?
Okay, it looks like you found the corn marker right away. I'm sure the others won't miss it either. I'll leave it at the most important fork in the maze. That way, my friends will be sure to make their way to the exit. Oh, I can't wait for them to come back. I'm getting very hungry!
-
Arrows baked to a golden brown
Huntress
I love baked potatoes so much that even if they weren't magical, I'd still be curious. I know I'm not the only one, so I made an arrow out of a slice of baked potato to point the way out of the maze. Hey, see the arrow?
With these baked potato arrows, people in the city can easily find their way out of the maze. But I'm worried that the crows flying in the sky might steal it because it looks so delicious and drool-worthy. I've got some gargoyle repellent on me, so I'll see if it works on crows.
-
Delicious Markings
Juliette
The Autumn Goddess made me a wonderful cranberry sauce. It smells so good and looks delicious! If we mark the way to the exit with a sauce boat full of this sauce, people in town will be able to get here in no time. What do you think? Good idea. Now help me find more cranberry sauce.
Thanks for delivering the cranberry sauce. I'll use this to mark my friends' return as soon as I can. Oh my, this sauce really is delicious. Thank goodness the Autumn Goddess made so much of it. There will be enough for Thanksgiving dinner when we all get together.
-
With a golden brown grill.
Adeline Svensson
The dark magic is gone from the corn maze, but the maze itself is challenging. To make it easier for the townspeople to find their way out, use the Thanksgiving feast as a guide. I made one out of a roasted turkey. Can you make sure I can see it properly from a distance?
If you were able to find the signposts to the delicious-looking turkey, that means it worked. The Autumn Goddess has put plenty of magic in the roast, so we should be able to get the attention of all the missing people and give them the quickest way home. Can't wait to see them again!
-
friendship
Juliette
I'm worried about the people missing in the maze. Because they are my friends. I'm so grateful to the city for having met such wonderful people. They are all very kind people. Especially the detective. He recently gave me a cute hug ring. I wonder where he took it? Have you seen him?
Thanks for finding the hug ring. It makes me so grateful to the city for letting me meet my friends in this place. Maybe if we can gather this much gratitude, we can erase the negative energy of the dark magic stored in the maze. Give me back my friends!
-
power of love
Lady
Mysterious cities have their challenges, but so do all places, don't they? Besides, challenges also open doors of possibility for us. I am forever grateful that I met my beloved gatekeeper here and that spring blessed our union. Look at the cherries ripening in my garden.
These heart-shaped cherries look and taste amazing. And it's all because my garden is protected by nature's fairies for no other reason. Please pray that the strength of my love for the gatekeeper and I will remove the negative energy of the corn maze and open a way out for the lost souls.
-
A delightful anomaly
Isabelle
I want to clear the negative energy out of this maze, and I'm grateful to the City of Shadows for giving me the opportunity to research some unusual anomalies. My dream is to one day encounter a delightful anomaly. Funny, sun-drenched...what's that shining thing over there? Is that a sun bunny? Help me catch it!
The sun rabbit is very nimble, but you caught it well. Now we can figure out how this anomaly works. I see, it makes the clouds go away. Just what we need in the city, I'll try to create a summoning item that will activate the sun bunny on a cloudy day.
-
Phantom rapture
Martha
If we can unravel the negative energy of the people of the city and replace it with the positive energy of sincere gratitude, we can get them out of the maze. I am so grateful to the city for their magical help with a difficult problem. I think I see a smile through the fog! See, what I see now is just an illusion?
You saw the fog smiling on you, too. That means our way is the right way. My gratitude was accepted. And it was the first step in getting my friends out of the maze. This smile makes me feel warm and friendly. I haven't seen a smile like this in a long time.
-
Lured into a cage
Huntress
My story is almost over, so I hope I can find a way to save those who haven't returned from the maze yet. I used the branches to weave a trap to catch the birds. It worked. After all, I had known how to make traps since I was a kid. I left the turkey trap in the maze, but I'm sure you'll find it soon.
My traps seem to work pretty well, don't they? I put in the ripest, most delicious berries I could find. The turkeys were irresistible, and one of them was caught right away. It was a little tricky, but the hunt was successful, I guess.
-
Feast of the forest
Huntress
I wanted to go back to the City of Shadows, chasing turkeys. After all, I grew up there. I found nuts and berries in the woods, ate them, shared them with friends...but there was no one around. Still, I picked some up and brought them with me. Go ahead, try some.
Delicious? As I feasted on nature's feast like that, I became convinced that I was in a real forest, not a corn maze. Then I changed tactics and continued hunting. Wild turkeys love berries, so I decided to use them as bait to catch them.
-
Secret Hunting
Huntress
I'm not sure what helped you escape the maze, so I'll detail everything. It's hard to get close enough to a turkey to shoot an arrow. Turkeys are more cautious than gargoyles. So I decided to camouflage myself with leaves to keep a low profile. Did you see any of the floral ornaments I used for camouflage?
Yes, this is the camouflage floral ornament I made from fallen leaves. I thought wearing it would help me blend in with the natural greenery, but the turkeys hadn't let their guard down yet. For the record, it's much easier to get rid of ghosts! I'm good at dealing with monsters, but I guess I forgot how to hunt.
-
Rustic Weapons
Huntress
At first I thought the forest was an illusion hiding a way out of the maze, but it looked real. As time went on, I got hungry and decided to hunt a turkey. The tracks I found belonged to that turkey. I made a bow and arrows, but I left them near the maze. Can you go find them?
I used this bow and arrow to hunt turkeys. The weapons I carry with me only work on monsters, not regular animals. So I had to make a simple bow and arrow with what I had on hand.
-
Around the corner.
Huntress
It was nice to be back in town and see everyone, the maze wasn't easy at all. Of course, I'll tell you how I got out. I didn't see any monsters. All I saw were turkey tracks. They're still there. If you look carefully, you should be able to find them soon.
Yeah, those are wild turkey tracks. How did they end up in the maze? That's part of what I wanted to know. I followed the footprints and "I turned a corner and got pulled into a portal and found myself in the woods. When was that? It's hard to say. I didn't see any people, but I also didn't notice any dinosaurs.
-
strange noise
Adeline Svensson
Perhaps the corn maze is haunted by an evil spirit. Could it be that it took on the form of a monster to create the illusion that it was the victim? That would explain the search going awry and the detective's note. I also hear what sounds like whispering. Maybe an evil spirit is whispering. Let's check it out. Be careful.
Thanks for figuring out that the whispers are coming from the farmer's windmill. I guess it's the rustling sound of the windmill blades as they rotate. That's what I suspected. So it couldn't have been an evil spirit. But then what about the monster the detective saw?
-
The quieter the river, the deeper
Inspector
The monster the detective encountered was huge. If it was a monster magically created by Cthulhu? The monster is said to have lived in the labyrinth of Atlantis. Yes, it must live under water. Just now we heard the sound of splashing water. Is there a pond around here?
As I said. Sure, there was a hidden watering hole in the maze! But not the abode of Cthulhu, I'm afraid. I checked it out, and this is no magical pond. It's just a barrel full of rainwater where little birds bathe. But I am relieved to know that my friends are not trapped by that sea monster.
-
deep scratch
Adeline Svensson
We're looking for the home of the monster that took our friends in the maze. And now I find the footprints of a monster with big claws. Probably a giant crocodile. According to our investigator, such a monster used to live in the Egyptian maze. Let's look for the clawed foot, the master of these footprints.
Yeah, it sure looks like this wooden rake is a foot with a claw. Wait a minute, let me try... no doubt. The marks I found were caused by a rake. It was simply used to plow the ground. That's frustrating. It's not the monsters I want to see, it's the missing people.

Listen, Red Cause Cafe is a haven for the playful and the passionate. If you live here, you have to play the slot machines and win at least once... well, the Crystal slot machine, for example. Excuse me? You already have one? Then it's easy enough to win again!
You won, great! Now hand over your winnings. Yes, all of it! Why are we giving it to you? What's it for? Come on, you want to rent a room at the Red Rose Cafe...? I lose. There are no rooms available at the cafe. I was bluffing!

In the path of the snake.
Inspector
If we are to find our friends, we should look for the roost of the serpent that lived in the ancient Celtic labyrinth that was in Avalon. I saw traces on the ground and thought they might be the tracks the serpent had passed through. The tracks lead all the way to a large bag of corn. Let's find out what was there.
Behind the sack of corn, there is no sign of the monster or entrance to its roost. Upon closer inspection, the grooves that looked like snake tracks were apparently created by dragging this heavy sack of corn all the way here. In other words, the monster the detective encountered in the maze was not a snake.
-
Horn Threat
Inspector
What kind of monster did the detective encounter? Maybe it was a minotaur - a beastman with the head of a bull. The Minotaur may have lived in the labyrinth of Crete and was brought here by magic. The corn stalks are scarred as if the Minotaur had scratched them with its horns. Let's find out who damaged the corn.
Did you find the corn scratch? Ah, a crow! Well, you can certainly see that this big bird ate the corn cobs and the weight of the corn has broken the tips of the stalks. But the detective would not call a crow a monster. We have to look for another possibility.

Changed amulets
Adeline Svensson
We still haven't found anyone in town who went missing in the corn maze. Their footprints have been lost and we don't know where they were headed. But I did find some berries mixed in with the corn. I was surprised! I wanted to retrieve them, but they were chained up. Could you check them out?
You're right, indeed, this chain looks exactly like a card scammer's good luck charm. It's really supposed to be a card connected to it, not a berry. This accessory is not a simple artifact. It could be enchanted. We may need Martha's help to figure out the mystery.
-
Signal light
Juliette
I can't wait to find those missing people and get the hell away from this creepy place and celebrate. It's getting darker and darker. Oh, I see a light up ahead! It looks like a lantern light. The guide said, "Do you think it belongs to someone? Let's go and check it out.
The guides always carry lanterns like this. I wonder if he's around here? Unfortunately, I don't see anyone around. I took a closer look and found that this lantern is a little strange. There seems to be a glowing acorn in it. What's going on in this maze?
-
Dangerous Beauty
Mayor
Apparently, those who went missing were making crafts with natural materials, so it's not surprising that it took this long. But there is no such contest being held for a holiday event, and it does seem odd behavior. I also picked up something that looked like a weapon. Here it is, take a look.
Indeed, these shurikens are strange. But a woman hunter once drove off a gargoyle that attacked me with such a shuriken. It was made of metal, though. She said she made the blade perfect to fight the monster. This shuriken looks like a fallen leaf in autumn, but it is definitely hers.

I'm not an expert at tracking, but I could easily find the footprints of a townsperson in the maze. They left footprints on the muddy ground. Hurry, we should be able to catch up soon! Hmmm, the footprints have suddenly broken off. We have to look for other tracks, like broken stems or branches. Look around.
You found a broken branch. This is another clue. It looks a lot like the key that Valerie had around her neck. It even has her ferret's teeth marks on it. Wait, why is there a twig in the corn maze? The questions just keep getting deeper and deeper. To get answers to these questions, let's first find the missing people.
-
Mayor's Neighborhood
Detective
Buddy, it's dangerous to be the mayor's neighbor. I don't mean that in a "bad" way. He's a great guy. But if I were you, I'd think twice before having a 100 year old ghost as a neighbor. All right, if you want to take a look around, I'll go with you. Let's go.
As I said before, City Hall is a treasure trove of secrets and traps! Our ghost mayor doesn't seem to care, but we don't. You need a normal house. A house like that mansion. They say there are almost 150 empty rooms there!
-
Mark of Tengutake
Mayor
It is strange that the people of the city cannot get out of the corn maze. They look at me with suspicion, as if I have maliciously lured them in, but if they follow my footprints, they will soon find the missing person. Look, there's something shiny over there. It might be a detective's badge.
Surely this is a metal badge like the one the detective wore. Hm? Why is there a mushroom on it? Apparently, the situation is more complicated than we thought. This looks very similar to the detective's badge, but with a different design on it. What does it mean? We need to find out if this is a clue to the detective.
-
Doubtful Vegetables
Adeline Svensson
There is no sense of evil in this place, but the townspeople are trapped in a maze of cornfields and somehow they are not responding to our calls. We suspect a kidnapping, so we've started to interview them. We're looking for clues, and your observational skills are reassuring. Let's look into it together.
Did you see anything suspicious? Well, there were some fall decorations, some fruit, and some vegetables, but nothing to indicate that the missing person case was a setup. But I don't believe that people in town simply got lost in the maze. There must be something we're missing. I'll have to check again.

Wrapping for confectionery
Valerie
Juliette told me that the detective has a sweet tooth, so I bought him a bunch of snacks. I'm going to stuff them in Santa's pants. I bet he's never had candy in those before! Now, find me some pants!
This is a Santa costume for a party. That'll do. Thanks for looking! Do you think this will be enough to fill my pants with candy?

Horrible Fables
Bartholomew
I recall that Mrs. Holland was a big fan of fables. For example, a story about a little girl and her evil stepmother who tries to poison her. But the story had a happy ending. The baroness often used fake medicine bottles for Halloween decorations.
I thought there were no more feelings left in my heart, but as I decorated the mansion, I began to feel warm and fuzzy. I began to remember many things. I could even recall things like the fake medicine bottle that the madam had used as a fireplace decoration.

run through the night sky
Bartholomew
During Halloween, the mansion used to be as sparkling as it was. The mansion must be decorated as it was back then. Then I would be able to remember something important. The baroness had hung many flower crowns in the shape of something ..... Which one was it, I think it was a velvet bat. Let's look for fluttering flower crowns.
The fact that I found the fluttering flower crown means that my memory was correct. The magic of Halloween is slowly lifting the evil curse that was placed on that mistress. Hopefully by the time the mansion is decorated, I will be able to remember a lot more. I'll hang up the flower crown. Perhaps there will be more to remember.

A Time of Hardship
Mayor
The collectors came at a time when the city was in the midst of distress. The city was split in half by an earthquake, and communications were down... The seismograph records show just how serious a disaster it was.
This is an important record of history that has been carefully preserved. You see, the strength of the earthquake is recorded as "8". That was a very powerful earthquake! The collectors helped the city recover from the aftermath of the quake.

Fascinating Decorations
Bartholomew
I am in the process of collecting the decorations that Baroness Le Verrier used to use to decorate her mansion on Halloween. As I began to collect, my memory became clearer and clearer, and I was able to recall that Madame used to keep a fake witch's cauldron at the front entrance. Have you seen anything like that?
The witch's cauldron with glittering balls in place of the well-found pill bottles certainly matches my memories exactly. Much of my memory has been lost. All because of a real witch who called herself the mistress. I had no idea that the wicked witch really existed!

Family Traditions
Bartholomew
The baroness was a big Halloween fan and decorated the house with a combination of her grandmother's and her own new decorations. She had hung a gold-colored snake wreath on the door, and somehow managed to recall every detail of it. I need your help to find it.
Thanks for finding the golden snake wreath. This is part of the Baroness's estate and was intended to be given to her sons. .... I shall hang this on the door of the mansion. It must look as it did when the good lady was still alive.
-
Luxurious darkness
Bartholomew
I want to decorate the mansion as Baroness Le Verrier did when she was once happy. For me, Halloween is a glamorous occasion, and for Juliette, a chance to rest. I remember when Madame made a glamorous Halloween bouquet. I made something similar. Please take a look.
This spooky bouquet is a likeness of the one Mrs. Holland used to make for Halloween. Of course, I do not have the same delicate sensibilities as Madame. But I tried to reproduce her bouquet from memory. If she liked it, I would make a few more and display them in her room at the mansion.

First Project
Mayor
Indeed, I was mayor of this city before the collector arrived. He arrived before the "distortion" happened. He was a talented young man with big ambitions and didn't look like the type who would be involved in crime. He showed up with a diploma, letters of recommendation, and several more projects. He may still be around here...look for him.
From this sketch, you can see that the collector liked to build various devices from a young age. That in itself is not a crime.

Winter Vacation
Martha
Plants, like all other living things, need rest. The spirit of hibernation helps plants survive the cold and emerge again in the spring.
Did you find the spirit of hibernation? Was he sleeping in a quiet corner? That's so like him...
