Hidden City Walkthrough

Quest

These are the story/quests featured in Hidden City. There is a vast number of stories, and please note that the order and categories are unorganized, so it might be a bit difficult to navigate. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Black Sheep

    Martha

The magical Christmas talent tools are interconnected and resonate with the Book. A search ritual will help us find the last tool, if it’s still in the School. This will point us towards the culprit. We don’t have much time! Speed up my ritual with City artifacts.

The City’s magic strengthens the connection between the talent-enhancing tools, and they begin to vibrate, attracting the last Christmas tool. Look, a secret door is opening, and there’s someone behind it! Don’t let them get away!

  • Christmas Herald

    Mistress

The Steward’s Megaphone allows its owner to control others and give orders to them. And Santa entrusted such an artifact to some kid! I wouldn’t be surprised if he became crazy with power. Find the Steward’s Megaphone and see if I’m right.

Maybe the Steward’s Megaphone could make my slow-footed servants, like Juliette, carry out my orders faster. It looks dusty and unused.

    Christmas School

  • Holiday Course

    Conductor

I’ll help you with navigation. Santa’s student who was engaged in holiday calculations could have easily planned something dangerous! I mean it. I knew such a mathematician once... Let’s find the Holiday Navigator. Maybe it will lead us to the culprit.

This Holiday Navigator doesn’t work like any earthly tool. Its special science is required for Santa’s sleigh... The calculations are incomplete. Trouble began when the student was working, so he’s not the guilty one.

    Christmas School

  • Knowledge is Power

    Martha

Santa entrusted the Christmas Archive to his most intelligent student. Could a person with such an enormous amount of knowledge use it for evil purposes? There are so many papers here that it won’t be easy to find the file catalogue... Find the Christmas Archive to learn the truth.

I wouldn’t mind reading this Christmas Archive. It holds all the secrets of Christmas! The Archive’s owner is not guilty: look, he was working with it when the trouble began.

    Christmas School

  • Holiday Clock

    Mayor

Who is to blame for the broken Sphere and the School’s current desolation? The most punctual of Santa’s students was watching over the arrival of Christmas into the world. It’s hard to believe that such a person could perform such evil. But to know for sure, we need to find his Star Clock.

I wouldn’t mind having such a Star Clock myself, for the sake of punctuality! But its owner clearly dropped the clock when the trouble came... He’s not the culprit.

    Christmas School

  • Endless Gifts

    Detective

Valerie may be exaggerating, but her idea has some sense to it. The talent-enhancing tools of Santa’s students are indeed our only clue right now. If we’re lucky, they’ll tell us who was sabotaging things. Let’s go through the list. Could you look for the Bottomless Gift?

Does this Bottomless Gift really give out endless trinkets that people want for Christmas? It’s a pity I’m not a magician...

    Christmas School

  • Cleansing Light

    Martha

Now that we have all the lamps for the Christmas Sphere, we’ll be able to dispel the sinister shadows that surround the Christmas Book. Maybe it will tell us what happened at the School? Help me summon the City’s magic before the evil spells have a chance to damage the Book.

The bulbs in the Sphere are filling with multi-coloured Christmas lights and driving away the evil shadows. Santa’s Book looks impressive! But all six slots in its cover are empty. The students didn’t create a single Talent Stone. Look, there’s a letter under the book!

  • Magical Disinfection

    Valerie

Do you think one of the students ignored Santa’s warnings and deliberately broke the Sphere? Back where I come from, people use special ultraviolet lamps for disinfection. Maybe they will help against magical infection as well? Let’s look for a superviolet lamp!

In the human world, ultraviolet lamps aren’t very fancy, but you get the idea. Let’s drive out the evil sorcery with a superviolet Sphere!

    Christmas School

  • Sign of Danger

    Huntress

To get rid of the entities and dangerous magic that has seized the School, we need to act decisively and aggressively. Most creatures perceive bright red lights as a sign of danger. Find me a red lamp, mein freund, and we’ll show them.

Let’s put this Ruby Lamp into Martha’s Sphere and try it out. If it’s effective against ghosts, I’ll make a similar prototype for myself.

    Christmas School

  • Cold Light

    Alex

To fix the Christmas Sphere and scare away the entities that have enveloped Santa’s artifact, I advise you to look for a lamp with a cold, blue light. I don’t know what magical power it has, but as a ghost I feel uneasy looking at blue light.

Once we put it in the Christmas Sphere, the Blue Lamp will dispel evil magic and expel the ghosts from the School. Just turn it away from me, will you? Oh, this note was under the lamp?

    Christmas School

  • Golden Ray of Sunshine

    Juliette

We’re restoring the protection against magic? I’m not good at spells, but fairy tales tell us that evil spirits lose their strength with the first rays of the sun. And there’s wisdom in fairy tales. Maybe you could find a yellow lamp that resembles the sun’s light?

Just the look of this Sunlamp warms the heart. Give it to Martha. Let her disperse the shadows around Santa’s mysterious artifact!

    Christmas School

  • Green Light

    Martha

The Christmas Sphere protects Santa’s artifact from magical interference. Disable the Sphere and the artifact becomes vulnerable to hostile magic. The green spectrum in the Sphere is responsible for basic magic protection. To put it more simply - the main light bulb is green. Could you look for a magical Beryl Lantern?

Just what we need! The green light will help clear the area around Santa’s artifact from the simplest magical emanations.

    Christmas School

  • Eye of the Holiday Storm

    Detective

The City is all in a fuss, but here, at the epicenter of Christmas, it’s gloomy, cold, and quiet. Where are Santa’s students who were supposed to be preparing for the holiday? I don’t want to upset Valerie, but Christmas is clearly in danger. Open the Investigation Diary and let’s begin, or there’ll be no holiday for any of us!

  • Flavoured Miracle

    Conductor

We’ve gathered all the ingredients to make Hot Mulled Wine. But we need some City artifacts, even for such a small thing. We want to heal everyone as soon as possible, even by magic, don’t we? So (cough)... we need to do all we can.

Ready! Look, the Hot Mulled Wine’s aroma is attracting all the sick residents. I need to heal myself quickly before they drink it all. Gosh... the Hot Mulled Wine has overpowered me. It’s delicious. Fine, we’ll leave some for the others. One more glass... for the sake of recovery!

  • Festive Dishware

    Juliette

I heard you’re making Hot Mulled Wine... You’ll need proper dishware. There’s a festive Pot hidden in the City! I’ll tell you how to find it so you can quickly make the flavored, hot drink. Quick, or we’ll all soon have a fever.

Great, this Pot is lovely. It’s perfect for making Hot Mulled Wine. So, if everything is ready, we’ll begin. All sick residents are waiting for our help!

    Santa's Workshop

  • Amber Sweetness

    Conductor

I also remember how we used to add honey to the Hot Mulled Wine. It adds some sweet flavor to balance the lemon's sourness. Will you find me some Honey? I'm sure there'll be some in the City. Honey is a Christmas treat, right?

Honey, mmm. It looks tasty. I want to have some... But I’ll refrain. After all, I’m not the only one who’s ill, and the Hot Mulled Wine will help everyone who’s sick! Plus the Honey will make the drink taste sweeter.

    Santa's Workshop

  • Sour but Healthy

    Conductor

To heal our citizens with this hot drink, we also need Lemon. Vitamins, fights viruses, and it’s slightly (cough)... sour. That’s just what we need for our Hot Mulled Wine!

Ah, fresh, sour Lemon is just what we need. No, no, I’m grimacing with pleasure. Gosh, it’s strong... Thanks (cough)... for taking care of me!

    Santa's Workshop

  • Warming Spice

    Conductor

Yes, (cough)... achoo! Oh, it’s not easy. What’s next in the recipe? Hot Mulled Wine needs Cinnamon. It’s such a warming spice and the best remedy against a cold. Only in the... (cough)... drink form of course.

Cinnamon smells so good... Although, I can’t smell much with my blocked nose. Thank you. Now our healing drink will not only taste amazing, but will also warm us!

    Santa's Workshop

  • Flavoured Base

    Conductor

We’ll need wine, spices and a pot. Let’s begin with the Wine as it’s the foundation of Hot Mulled Wine. If you can’t find the elf, just look around, the Wine may be hidden (cough)... somewhere.

Oh, a decanter of Wine! Red, just like in the recipe. Great, when it’s time to prepare it we’ll mix it with the other ingredients. Until then, I’ll put it out of sight to keep it fresh.

    Santa's Workshop

  • Magic Hot Water Bottle

    Martha

Melting a frozen heart on a special fire is a symbolic ritual that’s important for getting rid of the spell. When we melt the snow, the hot water must be poured into the Hot Water Bottle and placed on Valerie’s chest. Warmth will drive the cold away from a living heart. We’ll also need several City artifacts.

Valerie’s eyes are shining again and her breathing has become more rapid. Her emotions are coming back, and she’s reviving right before our eyes! She’s so happy to see her Edward, and the animal is snuggling up to her! I wonder what she saw when she was under the spell? Maybe the blizzard told her about some of the City’s mysteries?

  • Kerosene Stove

    Conductor

We have everything to heal Valerie and melt her frozen heart, except for a Kerosene Stove. It’s a small stove and we can put the Kettle on it. Could you find it?

Great, we’ve got the Kerosene Stove! I used to use this on the trains. But now we need the stove to save Valerie’s emotions. Thanks for your help!

    Gift Shop

  • Burning Hanging Lamp

    Martha

As far as I know, it’s difficult to defeat cold magic. We’ll need a special Hanging Lamp, a source of fire, to return Valerie’s feelings. I think I saw one in the City somewhere.

You found the Hanging Lamp! That’s just what we need. Its magical fire will help warm up Valerie’s heart.

    Gift Shop

  • Melt Her Heart

    Conductor

Martha’s preparing the spell to heal Valerie, and we need to find a special Kettle. We need it to melt some of the magical snow that’s found near the Gift Shop all year-round.

Great, we have a Kettle to melt the water... We’ll put this water into the Magic Hot Water Bottle to make Valerie her cheerful self again!

    Gift Shop

  • Find in the Snow

    Martha

As soon as you find some good evidence, I’ll make an astral call to find out what’s possessed Valerie. The results could be unexpected. The City will give us the answer. Look for something icy since we’re dealing with the cold.

The Frozen Heart is a clue! So, Valerie’s heart is frozen like Kai’s. He was once kidnapped by the Snow Queen. We need to warm it up as soon as possible!

    Gift Shop

  • Wind in the Heart

    Conductor

I remember an old tale where the character lost his emotions due to cold magic. What if the same thing happened to Valerie? Cold has somehow entered her heart and now nothing affects her. I think we’ll need a Stethoscope to listen to her heart.

I’m no doctor... But yes, that’s a Stethoscope! I’ll visit our friend Valerie and listen to her heart.

    Gift Shop

  • Frozen Feast

    Valerie

The magical recipe book keeps amazing me... I found a big Ice Cream Cake recipe, but we’ll need a few more City artifacts to make it. Trust me, it’ll be worth the effort. Just look at this picture. My mouth is watering! Will you help get the artifacts? Then we’ll have a party!

Hey, great! The Ice Cream Cake is ready! I already invited everyone so they can try our magical desserts. Nobody will miss out though. At Valerie’s parties, everyone gets sweet treats! Oh dear book, I found you just in time! Thank you!

  • Sweet Snowballs

    Valerie

What else does your heart desire from the magical recipe book? Well, come on! What about ice cream in balls of different flavours? Hmm, is there something like that here?

Thank you! The magic Ice Cream Bowl has been successfully created. I think we can now invite guests and have a small winter gathering to treat the whole City to our desserts!

    Gift Shop

  • Coloured Ice

    Valerie

So, we practised with the simple recipes, now it’s time to try something more exotic! What do you think? The spell recipe for Frozen Juice! Find it before someone eats it!

Yes, yes, it’s the Frozen Juice that I conjured up! So bright and colourful, and it tastes like strawberry. Great, thanks!

    Gift Shop

  • Cornucopia

    Valerie

So, what’s another spell in this book of magical ice cream recipes? Let’s try to make... A cone! I love them! Especially a crunchy waffle covered with chocolate chips. I’ll start conjuring, and you find it!

Look, cones have appeared! It’s so cool. This magic recipes book creates all manner of frozen desserts! All we need is a little snow! Oh no, what am I going to do in the summer? Well, I won’t worry now. Let’s make some more!

    Gift Shop

  • Popsicle Wonders

    Valerie

Now I’ll try to read the recipe spell for Chocolate Covered Ice Cream from our book... Get ready, it will appear out of snow like before. Choco-broco-late-ice-ice cream! Oh... did I pronounce that correctly?

You found the wonderful Chocolate Covered Ice Cream that I conjured, and it’s so good! Hmm, I’m starting to feel like a real dessert sorceress... A benevolent one, of course.

    Gift Shop

  • White As Snow

    Valerie

Oh look, among the recipes, one chapter is dedicated to ice cream! I know where we can find heaps of the best, beautifully clean snow. It’s near the Gift Shop! Let’s go there right now. You bring me the ingredients, and I’ll read the spell. Shall we start with Plombir Ice Cream?

The Plombir Ice Cream appeared right from the snow? I can’t believe my eyes! That means the magic works! Hurry, let’s continue! Wow, an ice cream feast for the whole world!

    Gift Shop

  • Killer’s Remorse

    Martha

To stop the killer barber, Sweeney Todd, we’ve found all of his instruments. Finally I can summon his spirit and seal it in the Remorse Bag that he carried with him through the streets of London. So angry, lost... seeking justice. I need some more City artifacts to place the ethereal seal. Hurry up! Peoples’ lives are at stake!

Sweeney Todd’s spirit found its final home in his own bag. We did it! The ghost’s pain will subside. He’ll gain understanding and regret. Take this Remorse Bag: one day you’ll hear advice from it, and it may save your life.

  • Reflection of Conscience

    Martha

The Hairdressing Mirror on the chain scared Sweeney Todd. He used it to show clients their haircut from behind. But Todd himself looked into the mirror, trying to understand who he was becoming. His anger grew over time and his conscience fled to the mirror. It’s time to find it.

In my crystal ball, I saw that you will find Sweeney Todd’s Hairdressing Mirror. It’s full of remorse. It holds the killer’s conscience...

    Castle Gate

  • Limitless Melancholy

    Martha

Our next move in catching the killer’s spirit is to find his Silver Scissors. The Huntress asked if she can borrow them for some "strong negotiations with werewolves," but I refused. The Detective said it’s a bad idea to lend out "material evidence," and I agree.

The Silver Scissors! Sweeney Todd lost them long before he became a killer. Maybe that’s why he became so aggressive over time. Let’s give his ghost back the memory of a better life.

    Castle Gate

  • Aesthete’s Veil

    Valerie

How do we find Sweeney Todd’s instruments? I was thinking, what’s a barber without perfume? For a long time, I’ve wanted to try perfume from the 19th century, Todd’s time! Ambergris, cardamom, musk... A barber should have these among his instruments!

You found some perfume? You know, Martha told me about Mr Todd and I decided not to use them. The crystal bottle speaks of the thirst for elegance, but how did this thirst transform into bloody chaos?

    Castle Gate

  • Fatal Diligence

    Detective

As Martha said, we can stop the spirit of Sweeney Todd, the murderous barber, with his instruments. I found squirrel hair at the crime scene, it’s probably from a barber’s Shaving Brush. Let’s find it!

Sweeney Todd’s squirrel haired Shaving Brush! He used it to lather his victims’ beards before... Okay, let’s not. The Shaving Brush is the symbol of the barber’s love for his work. He even took it to the grave. Creepy!

    Castle Gate

  • Wild Rage

    Detective

One victim - an old man - was found at the crime scene. There are no signs of a struggle, so he didn’t expect it. What’s strange is his chin is half-shaved, like they took him by surprise. The cut is straight and deep, like from a scalpel... Or a straight razor! We have to find it - the murder weapon can help us identify the criminal!

Did you find the murder weapon? Look, the razor’s handle is made of real ivory. It’s very old. Let’s talk to Martha, our forensic paranormal scientist.

    Castle Gate

  • Model for Assembly

    Martha

Thanks to you, we have all the gramophone parts again. But this is no ordinary device that can simply be reassembled with ordinary tools. To make the gramophone work properly, I must perform a complex magic ritual. Could you do us one more favour? Bring me a couple of artifacts - without the City’s magic, the Huntress’s invention cannot be restored.

I’m sealing the magical circle using the artifacts you brought. A golden glow envelops the gramophone parts, an entrancing chime fills the air, and... just look, our gramophone is as good as new! All that’s left is to take it to the Huntress: I think she’ll be extremely happy to see her creation again.

  • Magic Vinyl

    Valerie

I want to help, too! You’re searching for parts of the magic gramophone, right? Well, Martha said the gargoyles stole a case with magic records, and I just saw the gargoyle that carried it off! Without records, no gramophone, even a magic one, will play. Hurry and return them!

The case with the records! I can hardly wait until the Huntress puts her gramophone together again. I’m not a fan of retro, but Alex was very interested in the enchanted gramophone. He’s a musician, after all. I want him to see this curiosity soon!

  • Web of Sounds

    Martha

Just now, a gargoyle rushed past me and, you won’t believe it, but it was carrying the mechanism for the Huntress’s gramophone in its claws! Did you know that I personally enchanted this mechanism? What a pity I wasn’t able to catch the monster with a spell... But I was able to see that the gargoyle dropped the mechanism somewhere in the City. Will you look for it?

Ah, yes, that’s the mechanism for our gramophone! The spell I put on it not only weaves a slumberous spider’s web of scattered sounds, but also helps the mechanism play non-stop the whole night. The average factory-made gramophone doesn’t play for long...

  • Sweet Voice

    Conductor

I heard that the gargoyles stole a magic gramophone from the Huntress. Let me help you. As a lover of any strange devices, I can’t wait to see it in action. Find the needle. Don’t worry, it’s connected to the megaphone. It will be easy to find such a thing in a haystack!

Here it is! The megaphone that the needle is attached to. Did you know that a record player is just a portable gramophone? The gramophone has a heavy megaphone while a record player has a smaller one. It looks like the needle is made of sapphire! The Huntress definitely knows a lot about machines...

  • Musical Key

    Isabelle

I’m glad that the Huntress enlisted you to search for our magic gramophone. Can you find the silver crank? It is used to wind the mechanism’s spring and I worked on the proper rune formula for this crank for two months!

No gramophone can work without a crank. You see the runes carved here? I carved them myself using an enchanted chisel. It would be a pity if the fruit of my efforts simply lay around somewhere.

  • Focus of Music

    Huntress

Thank you for joining me, mein Freund. The gargoyles will regret messing with us! We must find and collect all the gramophone parts they stole. Let’s start with the simplest part: the case. You can easily recognize it. It’s a small box covered with red silk. Fight it and bring it to me.

Oh, there it is! My gramophone case! I carved it myself out of a cherry tree, and dozens of magical runes are hidden under the silk. Thank you so much, mein Freund. If we join forces, we’ll easily find the stolen things!

  • Sign from the Sea

    Lady Peacock

I feel we must solve this aromatic and philosophical mystery. Are you with me? It seems to me that it’s a call from India, which I left so many years ago. If we correctly mix all five fragrances, just like the five life principles that they symbolise, we’ll get something new... Maybe even a revelation?

A Lakshmi incense burner and lotus fragrance... it’s a message from home. "Love and forgiveness." I now feel love from back home and that they forgive my escape. They’ll meet me with love when I return. It’s a homeland call. Thank you for the gift, my friend.

  • Spiral of Life

    Lady Peacock

I wouldn’t confuse the heavy, lingering scent of patchouli with anything else. It reminds me of the smell of sun-baked Indian soil. There’s no mistaking it: it’s Ashram Incense. I think such a fragrance will be easy to find.

The noble bowl is smoking with aromatic Ashram Incense. Your discovery reminds me of the truisms that people in my homeland follow. Ashram means the life cycle of a person.

    The Hotel

  • Promise of Freedom

    Lady Peacock

Do you smell the sweet, light scent of ylang ylang? In Indian philosophy, this is how Moksha Incense smells. It’s the most desirable, pure, and carefree aroma in my worldview. I’ll gladly share some with you... when you find it.

There’s really Moksha Incense in this elegant crescent-shaped incense burner! Someone decided to remind me of the concept of "liberation." Oh, I’d be happy if it came true...

    The Hotel

  • Fragrance of Passion

    Lady Peacock

I feel my cheeks burning. The sweet fragrance of jasmine is causing it. They call it the "fragrance of passion" in my home. In Kama temples, thick clouds of this smoke allow loving couples to hide... Can it be a message? Will you see if you can find the Kama Incense?

A hanging lamp with Kama Incense! Inhale deeply, the jasmine won’t harm anyone. I see your cheeks are also reddening, my friend. It’s very easy to understand Kama, as it means "passion."

    The Hotel

  • Royal Rose

    Lady Peacock

I managed to distinguish one more fragrance. It’s a rich, heady rose fragrance reminding me of hot, sweet Indian days. Rose oil was the foundation of Artha Incense. Find its source in the Hotel, and I’ll explain what it means.

Someone actually left a precious incense burner with rose Artha Incense in the Hotel. It’s even in the shape of a rose! In India, Artha means "well-being."

    The Hotel

  • Noble Smoke

    Lady Peacock

I haven’t burnt any incense for a long time, not since I left home and settled in the Hotel. The scent appeared by itself one morning. I note the noble smell of sandalwood, which is used in Dharma Incense. Can you find the source of the fragrance?

Even now Dharma Incense is burned in this bowl! In India, Dharma means the whole order of things. This is our life principle, but why did it show up in the Hotel?

    The Hotel

  • Anti-Fear Medicine

    Professor

You’re just in time! Items left from Jack’s unsuccessful Halloween preparations will help us clear the City of fears in a single stroke. A Fear Scattering Rocket, infused with the magic that was intended for Jack’s "good" monsters, will then spray a horror neutraliser over the entire City! Genius, isn’t it?

The Fear Scattering Rocket is rising into the sky over the City, surrounded by a magical rainbow. Having reached the right height, it explodes with a crash of fireworks and magical, multi-coloured flashes illuminate the dark autumn sky, turning suffocating fear into holiday delight! We’ve finally defeated the fear that seized the City, and a joyous Halloween is now here!

  • Thanksgiving Day

    Martha

Valerie’s right, the City has earned our kindness. I found a ritual that can materialise emotions. Since we’re all feeling gratitude and relief right now, we can create a unique item: A Vial of Gratitude. We’ll need City magic for this...

Look, this is even more fascinating than launching the sky lanterns! Golden fireflies of gratitude are detaching from every person at the Fair and flying into the magical crystal vial. It lights up with a bright, warm light and accumulates all the kindness in the City! Let’s leave it in the square as a symbol of the return of Thanksgiving Day.

  • Ready-Made

    Detective

Buddy, this fair might not be very safe. I spoke to the townspeople who came here. Many dreamed of this place last night. Valerie said that her dream was disturbing. What if the citizens are being lured into a trap? Come on, help me look around.

The fair is full of all kinds of stuff. There are autumn gifts and pumpkin pies that lure you with their delicious smell. Soon the whole City will be here! At first glance, it’s a pretty cozy place, but who knows what dangers could have emerged from the fog along with the fair?

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Autumn Paradise

    Juliette

We’re one step away from entering the location. What will we find there? New mysteries of the City are waiting to be uncovered. Go on, enter!

The location is now open! Do you feel the pull of new adventures? The magic of the City is calling out to us!

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Sweet Horror

    Emma

It took you a while to get here! Ahem. I mean, hello, my name is Emma! I love Halloween so much that Jack personally invited me to become the holiday’s Steward this year! Do you like my outfit? The holiday gates are already open. Follow me.

See, the castle’s backyard is already decorated for the holiday. I transformed the place myself. Do you like it? Ah, yes, you’re probably waiting for the Halloween Spirit’s instructions. Bats will deliver Jack’s letter any minute now. Look, here they come. Catch the envelope!

    Jack's Masquerade Ball

  • Gates of the Holiday

    Juliette

We’re one step away from entering the location. What will we find there? New mysteries of the City are waiting to be uncovered. Go on, enter!

The location is now open! Do you feel the pull of new adventures? The magic of the City is calling out to us!

    Jack's Masquerade Ball

  • Trial by Temptation

    Mayor

We’ve been heard! Awakened by the heat of our hearts, the benevolent Thanksgiving Spirit has incinerated the Artifact of Greed that tormented the City for a century. I suggest we start the charity sale to help everyone in need of kindness and warmth!

  • All-Consuming Greed

    Martha

The minds of the townspeople have cleared. They’ve realised their mistakes and performed many good deeds to redeem any evil they did and reclaim the integrity of their souls. I feel that the Artifact of Greed has been weakened - it’s time to destroy it! Let’s invoke as much of the City’s magic as possible to banish this evil that has taken over the Thanksgiving Fair!

It’s been some time since I’ve seen such ancient, warm and powerful witchcraft! The good deeds with which we have redeemed our greed have merged with City artifacts and materialised an Autumn Brazier: a majestic bonfire vessel full of golden flames.

  • With Good Intentions

    Martha

Are we ready to banish the Artifact of Greed with our generous actions? I also want to contribute something. I called on the spirits of the underworld for help and enchanted this special Golden Turkey Charm for Thanksgiving. Find it. You’ll probably want to hear about its properties.

My charm will protect the minds of anyone who comes to the Fair with good intentions. It’ll remind people of generosity and selflessness, and also of the evil that may grow from a tiny seed of greed.

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Blessed Protection

    Huntress

It’s hard for me to admit my mistakes. It scares me more than descending into the Dungeons. But I’m not about to trade my soul for it. Thank you for making me see it. I once made a special Protective Helmet connected with Thanksgiving. Bring it to me and I’ll tell you what makes it unique.

Protective helmets of this shape were worn not only by the first settlers, but also by the most famous fighters against evil... The bearers of pure faith. Even a newcomer who doesn’t know how to fight will be safe from the City’s dangers with this helmet! I’ll leave it on the square. Someone will surely need it.

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Recipe of Forgiveness

    Valerie

Please tell me how to get rid of the Artifact of Greed! I cannot believe it made me give away Edward... How can I look into his beady eyes now? I’ve baked autumn cookies for everyone to celebrate our reunion. Look for them at the Fair!

The Golden Leaf Cookies are the best form of an apology. My grandmother’s recipe! Of course, I gave the first cookie to Edward. My little ferret has now forgiven me. I’m so glad! I think I’ll bake treats for friends more often than just Thanksgiving Day!

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Bright Light of Generosity

    Conductor

You say I went to the Fair in my sleep and gave the Station Key to some kind of artifact? All for the pleasure of getting drunk on wine and lounging around? No, I don’t want to be that kind of person. For a good deed, I’ll give a very special lantern to the Fair. Find it, and I’ll tell you more.

Here it is, my lantern. It feels so good to give it to help others, although I couldn’t part with it in the past. Want to know what makes it so special? It can briefly disperse the City’s fog from around the holder, and the bright flash it creates scares off werewolves. This will save many lives... You know, I feel a strange sense of relief.

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Man-Made Beauty

    Juliette

We were all obsessed with the Artifact of Greed? I’m afraid that doesn’t excuse me in the eyes of the Detective... How could I wish to be the most beautiful? No, no, let everyone be beautiful! There are many beautiful ladies in the City, and I’d like to make an autumn gift for every one of them. Will you help me?

An Autumn Necklace like that would help every girl in the City feel beautiful! Oh, it feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders...

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Stolen Wishes

    Martha

I’m sure the fog swallowed the Fair because someone brought these blanks for artifacts here in the hope of getting the wonders of the City for free. Now we must make these trinkets talk to find out what this scam regarding the City’s miracles led to. Let’s invoke the City’s magic for the ritual.

The gold plating on the selfish gifts that didn’t become artifacts is cracking. Diamonds are breaking, rust is eating away the expensive trinkets... Their ashes are turning into an ancient scroll... That’s it! Oh, bless our City. Look, it’s a letter from the person who brought these selfish gifts to the Fair... Along with a picture of an artifact. Even its image looks evil.

  • Precious Lure

    Detective

Our friends are liking all these senselessly luxurious "donations" made with some obvious intent that contradicts the tradition of Thanksgiving... Strange items, aren’t they? For example, that beautiful box with a ring that is lying at the Fair. Take it with you.

A precious box with a luxurious ring! Let’s see what the note says... "Let no lady be able to refuse me when she sees this ring." Can I...?

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Inevitable Victory

    Cardsharp

I don’t understand what kind of evil you saw in the gifts brought to the last Thanksgiving Fair. Some cunning little fellow wished for something good for himself, what of it? I too wouldn’t refuse a gift from the City. For example, those Diamond Dice at the Fair.

Such charming Diamond Dice! I feel like soul mates with the one who donated them. In their note, they ask: "City, endow these dice with the ability to win!"

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Without a Miss

    Huntress

I want... I want... Oh, how long have you been standing here?! I’m saying that I want to help you. The Detective said you were looking for "strange gifts" at the Fair? I saw a Golden Gun glisten in the rays of the setting sun. A strange gift for those in need, isn’t it? Find it. Hurry.

Someone brought and donated this beautiful Golden Gun to the Fair a hundred years ago. Don’t take it away! There’s even a note: "Turn into an artifact that shoots without a miss!"

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • All is Not Gold

    Juliette

Are you following me?! I must be imagining it. Still looking for gifts from the past that violate the tradition? There was a Platinum Purse somewhere in here. Have you seen it? A modest maid could quit her job at the Manor if she got hold of such a purse.

There are actual platinum coins in this purse! The note says: "Let this purse never be empty." I like the way this person thinks!

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • A Sip of Luxury

    Conductor

I’m a little devastated, but I’ll try to help you. There’s one thing that surprises me. You say people in the past donated modest and useful things? But I’m sure I saw an absolutely immodest Diamond Bottle here! Its contents must be up to par as well! I cannot wait to check... Let’s look together?

This Diamond Bottle doesn’t look like a charitable donation! I’ve never tasted brandy like this in my life. Ah, there’s a note under the cap: "Let this bottle become inexhaustible!"

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Master of Wishes

    Isabelle

In a dream, a mysterious voice promised to fulfil people of the City’s wishes in exchange for the things most dear to them; but everyone wished for some nonsense born of malice and stupidity. What made them listen to their dark impulses? Help me invoke the City’s magic, and I’ll perform a ritual that will help us figure it out!

I enclose all the items you’ve brought from the square in a circle, entwine them with runes, and... Just look! This is a donation can, and inside it... Oh Lord! My magical senses can’t be deceiving me: these are not fireflies at all, but pieces of the souls of our townspeople! And this looks like a page from a diary.

  • Evil Will

    Juliette

How did our priceless things get to the Thanksgiving Fair?! Don’t look at me like that, I never took anything there. But I feel a strange emptiness... Oh, look, is that Martha’s Magic Marble?!

It’s so sad to find this Magic Marble here. Martha kept this enchanted toy in memory of her dead sister Erin... I don’t believe that our medium wrote this: "I want to bend others to my will."

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Abandoned Post

    Mayor

I’m seriously concerned about the insanity that has taken over our citizens! What’s more, none of them remember visiting the Fair. They all claim they never left their beds all night! Oh, no! Look over there. Isn’t that the key to the Station? The one entrusted to our Conductor?

I can’t believe the Conductor gave away his Station Key. He abandoned his duties, locked the Station along with the unfortunate newcomers who often appear there... And for what?! Look, it says: "I want to always be on vacation and have free drinks at the Red Rose."

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Ruined Nest

    Martha

The evil force of this unknown artifact makes the people of the City bring and sacrifice their most valuable things. Do you have an idea what entity would feed on the desires of others? It can’t be! I see an Old Rattle, the one I once saw in the hands of the Huntress... Bring it, please.

This Old Rattle is the only thing left of the Huntress’s little sister and missing family. And here is her wish: "I want to no longer be afraid of the Dungeons."

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Betrayed Friendship

    Conductor

You really think that people bring things here and leave notes with their secret desires? It doesn’t sound very convincing. Who in their right mind would part with something so important... What’s that over there?! Valerie’s ferret?! We must catch him!

It’s Valerie’s ferret, Edward. Poor animal. A note is tied to his paw: "I want everyone to love me like Edward does." Do you believe that Valerie could just leave him on the square?!

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Deceived Love

    Detective

Do you think this dark artifact is sending disturbing dreams and making the people of our City come here with gifts? There’s only one way to find out: find the things left in the square by our sleepwalkers. I don’t want to say it, but... I think I saw the Porcelain Rose I once gave Juliette among the gifts...

The Porcelain Rose... As fragile and pale as Juliette. I can’t believe she would voluntarily part with it. There’s a note in her handwriting: "I want to be the most beautiful so that all men look only at me!" Did she make a wish when she brought this gift?

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Decay and Emptiness

    Isabelle

I’ve never seen drained artifacts before. Every drop of their magical power has been sucked out, and even their physical shell has begun to disintegrate. Perhaps the magic of the City that created them will help us find out what devastated the benevolent Thanksgiving artifacts?

The artifacts haven’t recovered, but the City’s fresh magic has intertwined with the residual magic of this place and formed a book with blank pages. The book itself is covered with golden rust that is gradually corroding. I’d say that this is magical corruption.

  • Whatever It Takes

    Huntress

You say people brought things here so the City would turn them into artifacts for newcomers? Then look for the Protective Leaf. We’re constantly having to save newcomers from trouble or monsters, so this artifact would be very useful.

This is what’s left of the Protective Leaf? It was meant to give shelter from adversity, bad weather and hexes, but now only its veins remain.

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • In Good Health

    Valerie

Looking for the most useful artifact for newcomers created at the charity fair? You need the Berries of Good Health! During my first days in the City I lacked the good health needed for new experiences and the strength to run away from werewolves.

Are you sure these are the Berries of Good Health? They sounded more impressive in the letter. How does someone use them? I’m not feeling any more energy or better health.

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • An Original Idea

    Detective

Having some trouble with the Thanksgiving artifacts? Same here. I can’t understand what’s wrong with them and why the City concealed the Fair. The letter mentioned a Blessed Fruit that helps generate fresh ideas. We could use one right now! Let’s look for it.

This is the Blessed Fruit? The seed cases with fresh ideas are empty. The artifact didn’t help at all. It worries me to see it in such a sorry state.

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Endless Melancholy

    Alex

You think such benevolent artifacts could have summoned evil to the square? I’d like to believe that isn’t true. You know what? The letter mentioned a Festive Pumpkin capable of lifting one’s spirits. If you find it, I’d take it for myself. I need it.

This pumpkin didn’t live up to my expectations. It’s as hollow and immaterial as me. Not a drop of joy from this Artifact has eased my melancholy.

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • A Nut for Cinderella

    Juliette

Do you think the artifacts from the last Thanksgiving Day give a hint at why the Fair was concealed by the fog? Let’s look for the Golden Nut, mon ami. I want to feel like Cinderella! If what is written about it is true, I might just have one small, secret wish...

This must be the Golden Nut Cache! But... It looks like an empty shell. And my wish isn’t coming true. Is it broken?

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Forgotten Kindness

    Martha

The festive items that you brought from the square are just beautiful things untouched by the City’s miracles. However, I feel the subtle connection of each item with the square’s aura and the benevolent motives of the missing citizens. Give me a couple of artifacts and some time to connect with the Thanksgiving miracles.

Just look at what my magic did with the help of kindness and compassion from the Thanksgiving Fair items! I noticed a small Festive Hot Air Balloon hanging over the square some time ago, and now it’s coming down to us. Look, there’s an old letter in its basket.

  • Abundance

    Mistress

If you think this tinsel carries an imprint of the City’s miracles, you’re wasting your time. Leave all these flags alone and look for a Cornucopia. It deserves magic of its own more than any other Thanksgiving symbol.

The Cornucopia is almost empty, save for a bit of autumn harvest. Not a drop of magic you’re looking for.

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Street Magic

    Detective

What could mark the Thanksgiving Fair? In New York we hang a string of colourful flags on our houses for every holiday, both inside and out! Look there, buddy, isn’t that one of those flags?

Festive Flags, just like back home! But I don’t think they have any magic in them. Whoever created this string left it unfinished.

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Corn Princess

    Conductor

I don’t know much about miracles, but I know something about Thanksgiving. Every year my daughters made festive corn dolls for the holiday. They were plain and simple, but each time they had a soul. Someone’s daughters must have made such dolls for the Fair as well...

Yes, it’s a Corn Doll made just for the holiday. Can I take one? It still looks unfinished. What? No, I just have something in my eye...

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Golden Harvest

    Valerie

No hint of ancient miracles? I noticed some golden fruit there. They were so appetizing I had to try one. I nearly broke my tooth, so I threw the "treats" away. Here are some lovely Golden Pumpkins... Maybe they’ll give us a hint about the miracles?

The Golden Pumpkins look wonderful, but it doesn’t look like the City put a spell on them. This one isn’t even finished. Maybe its creator ran out of gold paint?

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Miracle of Hospitality

    Juliette

What miracles could act as a reward for kindness? Hospitality is a wonderful virtue. Maybe we should look for miracles related to it? I think I saw a beautiful Turkey Wreath that is used by hospitable hosts to adorn their doors on Thanksgiving Day. Let’s look for it!

The Turkey Wreath is very charming, but I don’t see anything magical in it. Besides, something made the creator of this decoration leave it unfinished.

    Thanksgiving Fair

  • Deceptive Calm

    Detective

The Thanksgiving Fair holds a dangerous secret. Why did the City hide the square from its people, and why has it awakened from its long slumber? We need to find out and stop anything bad from happening! Everyone wants a warm and kind Thanksgiving Day. I’ve put all the evidence into your Investigation Diary. It’s time to get to work!

  • Eye of Horror

    Jack

  • Eye of Horror

    Martha

Thank you for your help. I hope you won’t spread the secret fears that the City’s residents entrusted to you. I feel a spooky energy in those things you brought. Will we be able to separate these fears and create the "Essence of Horror"? I have a final request: bring me the City artifacts on this list. This request may indeed turn out to be my last. The risks are huge.

The residents’ fears, painful memories, and baseless concerns are intertwining, gradually shrinking into a pulsating black cocoon of magical anti-matter. From this, the "Essence of Horror" is born in a putrid greenish glow. Only Jack could confuse it with something good and bright. Take it, I don’t want to touch it with my hands.

  • Floral Arrangement

    Alex

You want to put together the "Essence of Horror" from our fears? I’ll tell you, but if you laugh or tell someone, I’ll never help you again! No it’s not darkness or blood... What truly terrifies me is... giving flowers. You can find any bouquet and see for yourself.

This is the most Sinister Bouquet I’ve ever seen. I’m even afraid of ordinary flowers. It’s my quirk, if you will. Imagine a woman, waiting... you with a bouquet in your hands... Brrr.

    Jack's Masquerade Ball

  • In Red Tones

    Juliette

The Detective said you want to know what I’m scared of most? It will help in creating the "Essence of Horror", right? I can’t stop crying. With Halloween around the corner, I’m so afraid of becoming a vampire again. It scares me... and calls to me! Even the sight of any innocent red drink gives me chills. Look for something like that.

What’s this red liquid in the flask you’re holding? Please tell me it’s just cranberry juice! I’m already starting to feel the sweet taste of blood in my mouth...

    Jack's Masquerade Ball

  • Agonising Memories

    Mistress

You must be desperate if you decided to ask about my fears. But since you insist... On my rare sleepless nights, I’m haunted by ghosts of the past. Not literally, but my murdered love and my destroyed sense of trust scare me. I won’t say anything more specific. Find them yourself.

Ghosts of the past frighten me and gnaw at my black soul. How symbolic. I hope you’re happy with yourself. I won’t forgive you if this doesn’t help save Halloween.

    Jack's Masquerade Ball

  • Toy Horror

    Mayor

Maybe you should seek out the fears of other citizens? I’m a ghost, so few things from the living world scare me. Okay, if you insist. I’m uncomfortable around antique dolls. Are you satisfied? Find one and I’ll show you how they turn this spirit pale.

A beautiful Antique Doll, but please get it away from me. My beloved daughter went missing after I gave her one. And now, please, leave me alone.

    Jack's Masquerade Ball

  • Sticky Web of Fear

    Valerie

You want to know what I’m scared of? Ha, I’m not scared of anything! As you know, I’m always on the frontlines, fearlessly plunging into any interesting place even if demons are crawling out of there! Although... Come here, I can only whisper it into your ear. Things with spiders scare me a little... Find a spider.

What do you have?... Eek, a Spider’s Nest! Hurry up and get this thing away from me! How horrible! What? It’s fake? Well, it’s not that I’m scared, I just don’t like them.

    Jack's Masquerade Ball

  • Miracle Machine

    Professor

All the elements of my holiday miracle machine are in place, and I didn’t find a single flaw in its construction. It turns out, the problem is with the junk that Jack’s secret "assistant" gave him under the guise of the "Essence of Humanity". It just left traces behind. Your medium promised to assist me with magic instead of Jack. Are the City’s artifacts ready?

The careful, magical search has brought results, yet they scare me! Look, do you see this eerie, glowing residue here in the Magic Cauldron? Martha says this powerful, negative substance creates nightmares and fills the monsters leaving the portal with them! I certainly didn’t plan on filling the miracle machine with this...

  • Wheat from the Chaff

    Professor

Listen carefully. It’s hard to explain and even harder to understand. I created an Emotions Valve for the machine to separate fun from horror. Okay, your eyes are telling me that you don’t understand. Just look for something that looks like a Halloween lollipop with two taps.

You found the Emotions Valve! Was it difficult? I believe you, but we just don’t have time to build a new one. Your efforts will be rewarded with a spectacular holiday!

    Jack's Masquerade Ball

  • Too Much of a Good Thing

    Emma

I know what else was taken from the machine... The Candy Dispenser! This thing made sure there was always positivity in the monsters for their magic! How else could they transform fears into tasty treats? Let’s look for the dispenser!

My beloved Candy Dispenser! There’s even some candy left that the monsters didn’t eat, and they didn’t destroy the other pieces of the Professor’s machine either...

    Jack's Masquerade Ball

  • Fear Has Big Eyes

    Professor

Do you see how clever the machine is? My monsters should rush to someone who is especially frightened to quickly help them! For this, the machine was equipped with the Periscope of Fear. It’s like an ordinary periscope, but it has a large, attentive eye. Find it... or it will find you.

The Periscope of Fear only seemed to suffer a few scratches... I’ll touch them up while you look for the remaining parts of the machine.

    Jack's Masquerade Ball

  • Degree of Positivity

    Professor

Everything is lost. The monsters completely chewed up the Positivity Indicator. It should have measured the changes that happen to the monsters in the machine. Evidently, its pulses made them angry. I had a spare prototype, but this part is very rare. It couldn’t have escape undamaged... I hope you find it.

You found my spare Positivity Indicator! I’m sure it wasn’t easy, since we had to visit the World of Darkness with Jack to create it. Ugh, never again...

    Jack's Masquerade Ball

  • Pulse of the Holiday

    Professor

Each component of the transformer was responsible for part of the transformation. If you collect them all, I’ll repair the machine and find out what caused the malfunction. Will you help? To start with, I need Holiday Pulse Sensors. They look like, well... sensors with a scale and placed in pumpkins. It’s Halloween, after all. Look for them somewhere at Jack’s party.

The Holiday Pulse Sensors are intact! They show the pressure of the pre-holiday mood in the City. Namely, impatience, the number of tricks, and levels of fear. Ah, don’t try to understand it.
