Evaporating Trail
Martha
Excellent work, gentlemen. All these items bear an imprint of the Professor’s aura. But will it be possible to find the missing Professor and bring him back using these items and the City’s magic? The fog is growing thicker, and the trail is narrowing each minute. Prepare the City artifacts for the ritual and then step back.
It worked! The impression of the Professor’s aura filled the Mechanical Spider, and it’s now going in search of its target. Believe me, The Mechanical Spider will find him and show the way back through this foggy labyrinth.
-
Easy Breathing
Conductor
I don’t think the Professor would have lived very long if he breathed in all of the fumes that often evaporate in the laboratory. I bet that a glorious, powerful Gas Mask was one of his five favourite tools. Could you find it?
Wow, this is the best Gas Mask I’ve ever seen! A real masterpiece of purification! The Mad Professor’s talent was perfect for Jack’s plans.
-
Reasonable Precaution
Detective
Do you think that great scientists come up with the same ideas? We’ve found all sorts of mechanical arms many times when poking around the Collector’s things during various investigations. Maybe the Professor used one? Look over there.
Look at this Mechanical Arm! Powerful acids and dangerous toxins haven’t left a scratch on it. One can only be jealous of the Professor’s mad genius.
-
House Pet
Emma
Why are you only looking for the Professor’s things? I think he was lonely. Besides, you all say that you don’t even know him! Maybe he had a beloved pet? A puppy, or bunny, or something weird? Let’s look for it!
Oh, a domesticated little monster! And look, around its neck it has the same Halloween amulet I have, which protects against evil spells! The Professor made sure that the little one didn’t get into trouble!
-
Piercing Look
Valerie
During meticulous work, it’s important not to ruin your eyesight. I can imagine the Professor at work wearing glasses... Oh, no, I know... wearing stylish goggles that protect his eyesight and let him see in the dark! Could you look for them?
With these goggles, it’s not scary to work in the lab and perform spells! Wow, you won’t believe it, but they even let me see through you like an X-ray!
-
Pep
Isabelle
What did the Professor handle most often? What object did his aura imprint on? Wrong. It’s not equipment, flasks or even books. As a researcher, I can tell you that without magical energy or a strong cup of coffee, I wouldn’t have the strength for lab work. I’d start looking for the Professor’s favourite coffee pot from the laboratory.
What a grand coffee pot! The Professor knows what comfort is. The pot is heated using a magical substance! Wait, I’ll copy the runes. I could also use some.

Gifts of True Love
Detective
We scoured Jack’s Masquerade Ball, where the Spirit was trying to rehearse a "human" Halloween, but we couldn’t find an answer as to what he’s planning to give Salem. All our findings are filled with magic. Let’s ask Martha to combine the gifts that we’ve already found and rejected, use some City artifacts and unwrap this little puzzle regarding the Halloween Spirit.
The Halloween Spirit’s power left behind magical gifts and opened a cache at Jack’s Masquerade Ball. Just look! A living Rose, sealed in some sort of dome from a gigantic machine. Just like in the story of "Beauty and the Beast". Is this your "real gift" Jack? But what kind of machine requires a rose?
-
Scalding Sip
Valerie
Come on, what’s so difficult about giving a girl a gift? You treat her to a cocktail, she relaxes and starts having feelings for you! Oh, definitely. Let’s look for some sort of festive drink. This Flaming Cocktail looks very appetising.
The Flaming Cocktail blazes with real fire! Even I wouldn’t risk trying it. I’m afraid it will kill Salem, just like any of us.
-
Walk in the Clouds
Isabelle
Magical gifts that give their owner magical powers are among the things at Jack’s Masquerade Ball. Jack is blinded by love, but he should know that such a gift is dangerous to mortals! Hurry, find it! I think it’s something like an invisibility cloak or winged shoes...
Winged Shoes feed on the energy of their wearer! This artifact would simply kill a mortal girl. Jack should forget this gift, or else Salem will repeat the sad fate of Icarus...
-
Dizzying Passion
Juliette
I don’t think Jack understands what can make a girl happy. All his gifts are beautiful, but there’s a little darkness in each one. I was walking around Jack’s Masquerade Ball when I suddenly smelled a wonderful aroma... My head’s been spinning until now. You can easily find it by following your sense of smell.
What a rich perfume! Jack wrote "Scent of Passion" on the label. You can really feel its full range of passions, but the Spirit has clearly made it too strong...
-
Strange Taste
Emma
You want to find all the gifts that the Halloween Spirit prepared for Salem? He spent a long time searching for treats for the masquerade, but the fried mice and moss syrup were disgusting! Jack still doesn’t know what to serve you, but for Salem, he made a cake! Will you look for it around here somewhere?
Just like I said... a delicate sweet treat! The cake is pretty, except there’s a spider web on it. Yuck, I hope it’s not real. Maybe Salem will be afraid to eat it...
-
Heart of Horror
Juliette
How do we know which of Jack’s gifts Salem will like if we don’t even know her? We can’t let such a dramatic love story end in tragedy! At Jack’s Masquerade Ball, I saw a Ruby Heart, a gem so magnificent that no lady could resist it! But there was something sinister about it. Shall we see if it would suit Salem?
A precious Ruby Heart! Jack writes, "When I become human, the silver of its frame will stop burning my hands." I’m afraid this jewel is too extravagant for a simple, sweet girl.
-
Forgotten Reflection
Martha
Judging by the letter, Jack is truly in love. Love is one of the strongest human emotions, which gives us hope for the upcoming ritual’s success. We still need City magic and some artifacts to not only turn Jack’s spooky, ghostly body human again, but to also remind him of what it’s like to truly feel.
Bright sparks of humanity combine in a whirlwind of magic and form a small Folding Mirror. Jack looks into it... Incredibly, the ghost has a reflection in the mirror again, and transforms into a living person! But what else is happening? Along with his ghostly appearance, all magical power is leaving him. Jack’s becoming a mere mortal! What have we done...
-
Price of Humanity
Valerie
I’m not greedy, but living people normally value ??money! Of course, a ghost doesn’t need any, but let’s remind Jack about this mundane part of our nature. Find me a Wallet, that’s preferably not empty!
Such a lovely Wallet! Something tinkles sweetly inside. Let Jack remember how confident you become when you’re not poor and all the opportunities these bits of metal give you. By the way, the wallet you found in the backyard? It seems Jack left a note in it.
-
Occupational Therapy
Emma
My mother always said that work makes us human! She and I love to make handmade soap, and I bet Jack would also like to make something with his own hands. Also, ghosts don’t bathe! Let’s find a Handmade Soap and make him take a foamy bath.
What a fragrant soap! I think that although Jack is a ghost, even he’ll want to take a bath with such a soap!
-
Hearth and Home
Huntress
You want to teach Jack to be human? Remind him of the inner peace a person experiences when warming themselves by the fire on a cold evening. I value such moments above anything else. Let him appreciate it. Find the Fireplace Matches, and then it’s a matter of performing the ritual.
What beautiful Fireplace Matches, mein freund. Surely the Halloween Spirit often sat by the fire when he was human. Maybe now he can feel the warmth of a home.
-
Taste for Life
Detective
Which human emotions can an incorporeal ghost never experience? It’s elementary, pal! The Halloween Spirit cannot have the pleasure of eating something delicious! Can you find a Halloween drink at this party?
This Fragrant Drink has such a rich aroma! I could smell your approach from far away. I’m sure Jack will want to come alive as soon as he tastes this treat.
-
Simple Joys
Juliette
I thought about Martha’s conundrum for a long time, mon ami, and have an idea. An incorporeal spirit isn’t afraid of the cold, but a living person needs warmth and comfort. People usually give an ordinary, comfortable scarf in autumn weather! Maybe there’s at least one scarf in this strange place? Look for it, please!
What a soft, comfortable scarf! The desire for comfort is so human... I hope Jack manages to experience this feeling.
-
Finding Humanity
Detective
I’m not a pessimist by nature, buddy, but how do I convince a normal girl that our Halloween Spirit is a nice fellow and worthy of sympathy?! Jack is in love and obsessed with the idea of showing his sweetheart that he isn’t a monster. Martha has already got hold of your Investigation Diary and is scribbling something down. It’s a good time to look over her shoulder.
-
Winner’s Travel Case
Cardsharp
Of course, you don’t trust me very much, but I see that curiosity is prevailing. I know what the Collector put on the line in his match of the century with Fate! Collect all the game items in the travel set and I’ll share my theories.
Fate’s play set is very useful to me... Thank you. Oh, yes, I made you a promise. I believe the Collector offered to play for his own good luck. Do you understand?
-
Red Dragon
Cardsharp
The Collector is a stubborn fellow, don’t you think? He understood that luck can’t overcome Fate, so he took up a positional game: Mahjong, but he still lost. Look, are there any tiles here?
You found the Mahjong Tile? Yeah! The Collector lost FIVE times in a row. Did he consider himself a genius, for God’s sake? It’s pointless to spar with Fate!
-
Sixty-Four Squares
Cardsharp
Still, the Collector hadn’t completely lost his mind. He suggested Fate to play Checkers, a game where the ability to calculate moves always helps to get a better position. I should watch a recording of the game and look for the king.
Aha, a white checker! This means that Fate backed him into a corner here as well. Fate drove him to the back rank and turned the checker into the king.
-
Drumsticks
Cardsharp
What was the Collector hoping for when he chose Bingo for his next game with Fate? You can’t use any strategy to compensate for luck. Or was he going to cheat? We need his barrel.
Aha, the Bingo Barrel with the number 11! Nicknamed "drumsticks" or "women’s legs." The Collector lost again, and angrily threw it away.
-
Second Try Comes Up Empty
Cardsharp
The Collector sparred with Fate again - and again he chose a game where chance is strong. Dominos this time. In the end, he still sat with a full hand while his opponent placed the final domino on the table. Find where it is.
What a pretty Domino! I can imagine the Collector’s face, upset at his mountain of dominoes after another defeat...
-
Shesh Besh and Tric Trac
Cardsharp
This game has thousands of names, but you probably call it Nard or Tric Trac. The English call it Backgammon and the Greeks call it Tavla. The element of chance is too high, and the Collector, in vain, relied on his skill. Will you help me find Fate’s checker?
Here’s the fateful checker! It seems the Collector lost badly in Backgammon. I’m sure you’re interested in finding out what happened next in his match with Fate!
-
Power is Stronger than Reason
Huntress
Almost there, and Moloch the Powerful can no longer confuse minds! We must collect the personal belongings of tyrants and charge the amulet with the powerful aura of City artifacts. I know that I’m asking too much, mein herr, but if you don’t do this... The trap is charged and stands at the entrance to the Assembly Hall. It will spring into action as soon as the Mayor crosses the threshold. There will be no dictatorship in the City of Shadows while I’m still alive!
Look, Moloch is growing lighter! The dark aura has gone, and everything has turned out as we wanted. We need to check on the Mayor. Go talk to him first, okay? I can’t be held responsible for my actions...
-
Brewer’s Gunpowder
Huntress
Moloch the Powerful has reached full strength. The Mayor possesses the City Seal, but if we’re late... Oliver Cromwell is remembered for the phrase, "Trust in God and keep your powder dry," but before the beginning of his military career, he was involved in cheese making and even brewed beer. Can you find his favourite mug?
I don’t know whether Lord Cromwell brewed a tasty beer, but the mug is actually puritanical and without any decoration. It’s horrible when supporters of restriction and prohibition come to power.
-
Chalice by the Well
Huntress
Moloch the Powerful is winning. This morning the Mayor summoned the typist. Teufel! Have you heard of Vlad Tepes? The Ottomans even nicknamed him "the Impaler". In his native Wallachia, the ruler established such cruel practices that the golden chalice, forgotten near the forest well, stood untouched for months awaiting its owner.
Here’s the chalice. Very good. It looks quite fancy. I think you’d find a lot of hunters with sticky fingers who would be enticed by it. What sort of terrible glory did Vlad Tepes, nicknamed Dracula, create for himself?
-
Iron Lame
Huntress
The light in the Mayor’s office was on all night. We can’t wait around for Moloch the Powerful to force him to issue draconian decrees. Another tyrant of the past built an observatory and stacked pyramids of skulls in the town squares of conquered cities. I’m talking about Tamerlane, whose staff broke the spines of more than one messenger.
Brilliant! The staff of Tamerlane, the brutal Iron Lame, is perfect for our plan. Just a few more left and we will deal with Moloch. Keep looking, mein herr!
-
Poet on the Throne
Huntress
Moloch is active: the Mayor has requested the archives of City regulations. Don’t delay! Emperor Nero considered himself to be a great poet and even ordered the burning of Rome so that the sight of a fiery disaster would awaken his inspiration. Find Nero’s Lyre. Only absolute power can burn a capital city for the sake of a passing whim.
Sehr gut! I always believed in you, and now I see that I wasn’t mistaken. The lyre of Emperor Nero, capable of burning his own capital, is another step towards saving the Mayor and us all.
-
Punishment for the Elements
Huntress
To destroy the oppressive power of Moloch the Powerful, we need the whip of the Persian "Ruler over Heroes," Xerxes. When a storm swept over a crossing guided by the Persians, Xerxes angrily ordered the waves to be whipped. Dummkopf! Have you ever seen such a crazy tyrant, so confident in his right to command not only people, but also the elements?
Excellent, you found Xerxes’s Whip! Like the one he used to order the sea. That means I was right and Moloch brought the strongest attributes of power with him to the City. Let’s get to work. Not everything is lost!
-
Cure for All Ailments
Conductor
Congratulations, you made it just in time! To be honest, I had already given up. Start preparing the medicine and I’ll watch over the "developer". Collect the ingredients in an alchemical oven and charge them using City artifacts. You know it all better, don’t you...
Why is your face all twisted up? It’s nasty? But you won’t suffer from a cold or flank pains for at least a year! Let’s drink to that, huh?
-
Sharp and Strong
Isabelle
Oh, the destruction of your aura is nearly complete. The "developer" shows you’re NO LONGER VISIBLE! Hurry! The final ingredient is the Bamboo Stalk. Strong like the character of a daredevil and brash like the nature of a flirt.
Now we’ve got everything in the recipe - fruits, leaves, flowers, a root, and a stalk. Let’s hurry to the Conductor. It’s time to cook up a universal medicine!
-
Foundation of Everything in Existence
Isabelle
You may not feel anything, but the Conductor says that your aura in the "developer" has become completely transparent! Time is running out! The foundation of the medicine is ginseng: find the biggest root you can.
Ginseng root is shaped like a person, isn’t it? In ancient times, it was even confused with mandrake, which led to sad results. But we won’t make that mistake!
-
Flowers of Salvation
Isabelle
Have you had any visions yet? Are you sure? Keep hanging in there. It’s time to continue the search. According to the recipe, we need milk thistle. Its flowers contain essential oils that will make the mixture smooth and gooey.
Just look! What strange flowers! Milk thistle seems like a useless weed until you learn its medicinal properties.
-
Teeth on Leaves
Isabelle
How are you feeling? Are spots swimming in front of your eyes? Phew, it hasn’t started yet. There’s still time to prepare the mixture. I dried the Canker Berries, but I need Aloe leaves for the healing effect. Will you look for them?
You brought the aloe? Very good. I just strained the first brew. Be careful. These little thorns look like teeth, and they’re just as sharp!
-
Sour Taste
Isabelle
I hope the medicine cures your ethereal trauma. For the medicine’s base, the first thing we need are vitamins. No lemon will help you here - only Canker Berries. But hurry - nobody knows when the ailment will begin to take effect. Perhaps by tomorrow...
Such nice berries, right? Just don’t try to eat them. The canker’s acid will instantly pucker your lips. Wait until the medicinal mixture is ready.
-
Hidden Face of the Ball
Juliette
Every beautiful woman tried to bring something unique to the ball that would complement her image, attract the attention of suitors, and create an aura of mystery around her. I think this ball has more than enough mysteries. Maybe the ball will reveal its hidden face to us if we collect the accessories of the ball’s favourite lady?
Oh, what’s that?! The Gorgon Medusa! I didn’t expect to see such a face at the ball. Brr, even I’ve lost the desire to dance. At least now we know which curse looms over the ball.
-
En Route to a Legend
Martha
How much do you know about King Arthur’s character? His story ends abruptly when he departs for Avalon. Perhaps some of the legendary knightly artifacts would help me establish communication with the great king’s spirit.
I don’t believe my eyes! It’s Excalibur, the legendary sword of King Arthur! Did you pull it out of the stone? I believe that with such an artifact, King Arthur will surely answer me someday.
-
A DEAL WITH DARKNESS
Kira Woodville
To return the captive passengers, you must collect all the items that Stone planted on them, place them on the Altar of Shadows, and perform a return ritual using City artifacts. I understand it’s not easy to get them, but I can’t do it myself.
Good job! I never doubted you! Of course, there’s still a lot of work to do to bring the missing people back. And we’ll have to face the Shadow disciples again. I think we deserve a little rest. And... thank you. You helped entire City!
-
SLEEPY KINGDOM
Kira Woodville
These taxi disappearances aren’t giving me any peace. But I found a common detail, and if everything proves to be true, we’ll need to have a serious talk with someone about this. Yesterday, an actor disappeared. I’ve already looked at his things: tights, gloves, make-up. What? A sleep mask? For on stage?
Everything is clear. The sleep mask is the final clue: someone’s adding items related to shadow and light to the passengers’ belongings. It’s a sign! I think it’s time to talk to the culprit. But who? To Alford Stone, of course!
-
PRE-MEDICAL EXAMINATION
Kira Woodville
The situation is heating up. Another person has vanished! A doctor went to see a patient and disappeared along the way. And again I’m unable to find a common link. I hope for your keen eye. Doesn’t this seem odd to you? Ah, you noticed the lamp shade too!
An unusual find. It’s either a portable lamp shade or it’s for a camping lantern. Why did he take this with him? More mysteries and not a single clear answer...
-
YOUNG FLIRT
Kira Woodville
Don’t even ask. The case of the missing passengers is still unsolved. I feel like a fool, my friend! Ordinary things from ordinary people... Now a young lady has disappeared on her way to visit her cousin. Hmm, only this hat remains. Look at it...
And again, something inexplicable. What do you think, why would the missing girl need a hat with such a wide brim if she was going to an evening get-together? You don’t need shade at dusk! A clue is lying around here somewhere!
-
WIDOW’S VISIT
Kira Woodville
I was racking my brain over the mysterious taxi disappearances. But even my old techniques don’t work. An elderly woman went on a trip a couple of days ago, but she didn’t reach her destination. Maybe her belongings will tell us what happened. What’s that lantern over there?
I wonder why she needed such a small lantern. When we were kids we used similar lanterns and our hands to make little animals on the wall.
-
ONE-WAY TRIP
Kira Woodville
I’ve taken a taxi several times, but nothing happened to me. That means people aren’t randomly disappearing. There’s an agenda at work. Here are the things left behind by the missing passenger. Any thoughts? What do you think, for instance, about this umbrella?
Yes, an entirely normal collection except for a lady’s umbrella... It was a male passenger, after all. I have no idea why he was carrying it.
-
PRECIOUS RELIC
Angélique
The cipher said, "Only the Chosen One who finds the five flowers will find the City’s Gift of Ages." We have all five passionflowers. A beautiful bouquet, but it’s not enough. We won’t be able to find the Gift of Ages without the City’s magic. So, what are we waiting for? You’re our only hope.
Look! The passionflowers are changing and turning into precious crystals... Wow, they shine so brightly! We’ve received an amazing artifact, which is just as beautiful as the tropical flowers it’s made of.
-
GARDEN LUXURY
Angélique
We need to find one last flower from Heine’s poem. That would be Passiflora caerulea. They say that it’s now grown all over the world. Maybe it will take to my room as well? Search the City again. I’m sure this passionflower is waiting for you somewhere!
You managed to find Passiflora caerulea! I hope this didn’t take too much of your time. I love these flowers so much. Do you happen to know how to grow them?
-
MAGIC OF LUCK
Anna Weber
I think we’re lacking a Passiflora quadrangularis for our bouquet of flowers from Heine’s poem. Not a very poetic name, I agree, but the flower itself is very beautiful. You’re really good at finding the right flowers in the City. Please find it.
How do you do it? You even managed to find Passiflora quadrangularis. Maybe you’ve been hiding your secret passion for floriculture from us until now.
-
BEAUTIFUL SURPRISE
Vera
I heard you were looking for passionflowers praised by Heine. I’ve read that Passiflora edulis is actually a passion fruit. Who would have thought! It’s very tasty, but I’ve never seen the flower. Will you look for it around the City? I’m very curious about what it looks like.
Wow! The passion fruit’s flower is as beautiful as the other passionflowers. Now I want to make a cocktail out of passion fruit juice, kumquat, and cranberry. Ah, well...
-
A GIFT FROM SOUTH AMERICA
Kira Woodville
So, we need to find five flowers so that Angélique gets a certain gift. Let’s take a look at the paper. I know this one. The second flower is a granadilla. Previously, the yellow kind was especially valued. I’m sure you can find this kind in the City as well.
I thought the yellow granadilla would be golden, but it’s actually red-violet in color. They probably call it yellow because of its golden-yellow delicious fruit. Who wants to look at flowers when you can eat something?
-
TRICKY FLOWERS
Anna Weber
An excerpt from a Heine poem is written on the sheet of paper that Angélique found. I heard it as a child. It describes the passionflower, or granadilla. These aren’t simple flowers. Maybe you can find one of them in the City.
What luck! You’ve found a passionflower! By the way, this species is not exactly harmless. This is Passiflora foetida, and it’s a predator. It lures its victims with a beautiful lush color, but it’s poisonous.
-
Achieving Perfection
Mistress
We have all we need for the perfect man... But something is missing. What kind of husband would he be without a ring? I know magic that, if used, can make the City grant me my perfect husband! Please bring me some City artifacts for the spell. Happiness has never been so close! I will repay you, don’t worry. I always do!
And here is my ring! I always gave it to them myself because they were afraid. The more they loved me, the more afraid of me they became. This ring has the power to subdue men. Maybe it will come in handy to you someday. Take it as a reward. After all, even black magic can be useful... especially for a weak woman.
-
The Price of Love
Mistress
The perfect man has money. This is not materialism... it’s duty, it’s status. Jabal was the prince of some eastern country with a funny name. He showered me with gold. Where is his wallet which he opened so gracefully?
That’s my husband’s wallet that seemed so bottomless... Jabal, he ran out of money faster than he ran out of compliments! Thank you for finding it. Wealth is the final touch to the portrait of the perfect husband.
-
A Sharp Mind
Mistress
What really makes a husband captivating is his sharp mind. Yes, I never saw my Eric without a book. He read to me the most thoughtful pieces from Aristotle’s writings. It was like a spell. But where is all this philosophy now? On the dusty shelves of my office. Find me that book if you’re smart enough.
The corners of some pages are bent, some words are underlined. "Life requires movement," it says. It’s a pity not all are capable of real movement, which I would like. Thank you, leave it here. Another feature to add to the portrait of the perfect husband.
-
A Man Who Hunts
Mistress
The portrait of the perfect man would be incomplete without a passion for hunting. It’s the struggle, the ability to shoot that makes one manly. My third husband, Alistair, had all of these traits. What beast did he fall prey to in our relationship? His gun is in my quarters. Find it, but do not shoot yourself... Ha!
Alistair’s short-barrelled gun... Is there ammo inside? No... a pity. Please hang the gun on the wall - I’ll wait for its fatal shot. Only love shoots this way!
-
A Real Man’s Cabriolet
Mistress
George, my second husband, was a hero. Not on a horse, but in a shining cabriolet. When he confidently drove the car, I choked with emotion. The keys to the car must be somewhere around here... find them.
Yes, those are the same keys. In his hands they seemed to be the keys to a mighty beast. They made him stronger, just as the perfect husband should be. Thank you for finding them.
-
Dead Flowers
Mistress
Ah, Frederick, my first husband... he seemed so gentle, and I was so young. His flowers always seemed to take the ground from under my feet. I remember their smell, their colour... Where are they now? Find them for me.
Flowers are a symbol of beauty that only a real man can give you. Now they’re as withered as my feelings. Thank you, they helped me recall some pleasant memories.
-
The Privacy of Correspondence
Juliette
Phew, that wasn’t easy... I easily found a similar envelope among the papers in the Manor, but magical powers are required to write the address of the Steward of Temptations! Could you get some City artifacts for me?
Sent... Uh, so nerve-wracking! Thank you! You know, when I was putting the letter in the envelope, it suddenly whispered to me that the Mistress was ordering a new, incredibly gorgeous dress... These magical letters cannot hold their tongues!
-
Seal of the Fifth Husband
Juliette
We have one more seal to find! Then I can finally send this ill-fated letter to the Steward of Temptations... The Mistress is getting impatient. It seems that we need to find a Bronze Seal. It’s very beautiful. Will you look for it?
Oh, we have all five seals! Now I can replace the opened envelope, put all these stamps on it and send it to the right address! Thank you for your help!
-
Seal of the Fourth Husband
Mistress
Well, since you’re here, could you do something? You have a gift for finding things. I need one of my seals. Look for it, please. It’s wooden and carved, with a monogram on the stamp. Can you find it?
Thank you! I’ve put it on the envelope. You know, I have extensive correspondence and some addressees need a special approach. They refuse to read a letter without a stamp below the heading. Please give the seal to Jul, she’ll put it back.
-
Seal of the Third Husband
Juliette
I think I remember the third one - the seal was bright and silver. It should be easy to find even in this chaos. I’m afraid that the Mistress will find out I didn’t send the letter, since the first envelope is torn! Do your best, ma cher!
Here’s the Silver Seal! It really is beautiful. We need to hurry and find the rest, or the Mistress may start asking about the letter.
-
Seal of the Second Husband
Juliette
Now we need to find the second seal to seal the new envelope and send the Mistress’s letter. It’s best to do it quickly, so she doesn’t discover my little oversight.
What an unusual seal - with a shield and bull. I wonder, what country does this noble family live in? Ah, a very noble symbol... Thank you! We have to find three more to seal the envelope.
-
Seal of the First Husband
Juliette
The envelope the Mistress gave me contained the seals of her former husbands. I need to replace this envelope and put the seals on a new one! But I don’t know where to find them! Terrible! If she finds out... You know, I like her well enough, but strange things happen in the Manor when she gets angry...
There’s the Glass Seal! Look, the picture on the seal matches the imprint. So this is one of the seals we need! Thank you, let’s continue searching.
-
Escape from Paradise
Lady Peacock
I want to restart time in my Hotel, start a new era, like Adam and Eve did in their own time, by eating the Paradise Fruit. We’ve found all the fruits possessing its properties. Martha can perform a ritual for magical transmutation, but for this, additional artifacts are required. Please find them and return me to the time stream!
Thanks to you, the Paradise Fruit has been created. But what is it? I still can’t leave the Hotel. Maybe the Hotel isn’t paradise at all?! Perhaps the key to freedom is not found in mythical fruits... Thank you, now I have food for thought. Take this Paradise Fruit. Its wonders may be useful in your searches!
-
Source of Cycles
Isabelle
The Greeks also have a mythical fruit: the Pomegranate. Hades married the goddess of fertility, Persephone, with its help. Only in the summer is she allowed to return to Earth and share her warmth. And so, the seasons came into existence, time came into existence. Is Lady Peacock’s heart yearning for the return of the passage of time?
Never before have I seen such juicy pomegranates. A truly epic fruit! If Hades had such pomegranates, then Persephone didn’t lose much. At least her husband was faithful and kept his word, unlike Zeus...
-
The Burden of Wisdom
Martha
Knowledge isn’t always desirable. Sometimes a person prefers to be a slave to ignorance, i.e. they repel knowledge. But knowledge is always more useful than ignorance. There is a fruit that repels through its scent, but it tastes sweeter than honey. Find the Durian. Trust your nose.
You’ve found the Durian. No, don’t come closer. My supernatural senses are too sharp to endure its presence. Hide it for the time being. Counteracting its essence will help us create an unparalleled Paradise Fruit.
-
Solid Nut
Valerie
Looking for mythical fruits is fun. I have an idea, but don’t laugh. A long time ago I read about Siam. And I came across a legend that coconut milk can be transfused to wounded people instead of blood. Can you imagine?! Such a wonderful fruit! Why don’t you find it?
Oh, a Coconut! Yay! I don’t believe the story about transfusing coconut milk to living people, but its meat is very healthy for the skin. When you finish with your fruit mumbo jumbo, call me, and I’ll make a face mask.
-
Fig Leaf
Martha
I hear that Lady Peacock has decided to escape the Hotel, so I will try to help her. Unfortunately, Paradise Fruit does not exist. But it can be recreated using other fruits that have the traits of this artifact. Next we need a Fig.
Wonderful, a Fig. It was the leaves of figs, or fig trees, that covered Adam and Eve’s naked forms when they tasted Paradise Fruit. Of course, apples and figs aren’t enough to imitate fruit from the Tree of Knowledge, but we’re on the right track.

Controversial Canon
Lady Peacock
It wasn’t easy for the first people to escape paradise. Misfortune and hardship awaited them beyond the border, but at the same time, they began to live in the present. I also yearn to free myself from the numbness of one day. Could Paradise Fruit give such a gift? It’s believed that this fruit is the simple apple. Help me find it!
Marvellous, you found the Apple! An ordinary apple probably won’t be enough to escape the Hotel. But I’m not particularly knowledgeable about legendary foods. Let’s go see Martha. Maybe she can tell us how to get the Paradise Fruit?

Knight of the Indian Order
Juliette
The Order of the Indian Empire remained in the real world, somewhere in the cache of the Queen’s secret service. Martha says that the aura of the things we collected on the ship are so saturated with Galahard’s heroism that she would risk joining them to perform a summoning ritual. Can we help with the preparation?
By collecting the symbols of Galahard’s feats and the City’s artifacts, we managed to summon the Order of the Indian Empire from the real world! I think this thing would make the Raja reconsider his opinion of the undesirable groom! \n I’m going to take it to Lady Peacock. Let her give it to the groom when he returns. Thank you, my friend!
-
Contract With Hell
Martha
There are powerful protective spells on the contract the Mistress signed with the demon. The letters get blurry when I look at them! But I know a ritual - it will break the spell and let us learn the contents of the contract. Will you help me perform it?
I redirect the flow of energy and the magical outline of the protective spell breaks. The contract’s protection is destroyed! Now you can comfortably read it.\n I’ll carefully study this diabolical scroll. Thank you for your help!

One Hundred Years of Waiting
Lady Peacock
I can’t believe that a hundred years of seclusion are coming to an end. Please take my hand and escort me to the Pier. I don’t feel steady on my feet and I’m afraid of fainting upon seeing my Captain...
What’s this?! There’s not a single living soul on the ship’s deck? It’s completely empty! No, no, this can’t be! Where is my dear Captain?

We’re one step away from entering the location. What will we find there? New mysteries of the City are waiting to be uncovered. Go on, enter!

Frozen Fun
Detective
Can you feel the Enchanted Ball coming to life? The grave silence in the ballroom is gone! I hear the rhythmic tapping of heels and the muffled rustle of dresses. I think someone is... dancing? Let’s enter and see what’s going on inside the Enchanted Ball.
Do you see this? A silent ballroom embraced by dead silence, lifeless figures in ball gowns, and among them - Juliette! Dancing in the moonlight, alone, to music only she can hear! Jul...! No, she doesn’t see me... She’s looking right through me! I touch her hand, but she just slips away in her dance. What the hell is this?!

Secret Helper
Detective
What a mess. Surely there were other victims of the Mistress’s contract with the demon, as her beauty needs constant replenishment. Who was giving us the clues? Did the Dancer have help? But enough of this demonic devilry. Today Jul sleeps in her bed.

All Secrets Come to Light
Detective
A beautiful outfit, magnificent jewellery, a captivating dance, brilliant music and pieces of talent from great dancers. It seems we have everything for Jul to impress the ghost of the Dancer and free herself. Help Martha perform a ritual that will help Juliette’s dance be remembered for centuries!
The magic has done its job. Juliette’s movements are becoming incomparably soft, graceful and sensual. I swear, even the crowd of petrified guests are amazed! Is it me, or are they turning to see how impeccably Juliette performs the fouetté?
-
Forbidden Beauty
Detective
All that remains is to find the last item that holds a piece of the talent of a brilliant dancer. My friend, I heard about the spy dancer Mata Hari. If I’m not mistaken, there was one of her accessories in the Manor!
A beautiful oriental crown. They say Mata Hari lived in Indonesia and was famous for performing the sacred dances of the East. Thank you, buddy. Now we have everything we need to save Jul!
-
Ritual Gestures
Martha
Hand gestures are the most unique thing that can be found in a dance, and they were perfectly mastered by Simona Alvarez, known as "The Rose of Flamenco." Jul once complained that she had lost a rose in the ballroom, the one which Alvarez had woven into her hair. Maybe you can find it?
A flaming rose is the true embodiment of Simona Alvarez’s dancing. It may seem simple, but the fire of sincerity and true passion is what made it unique.
-
Monarch’s Dance
Valerie
Not just professional dancers knew how to dance. I read that the English Queen Elizabeth I danced a perfect volta, a ballroom dance with complex moves. The Mistress definitely has some item that belonged to the legendary queen. Find it.
What a gorgeous collar! It really is worthy of a queen. I don’t know where the Mistress got it, but I’m sure that we’ll have a better use for it.
-
Fouette Shoes
Detective
Since we need the belongings of famous dancers, I know what to look for next. I think I saw a display case with pointe shoes somewhere in the Manor. Surely they also belonged to some celebrity. Will you look for them?
Look, there is a label on these shoes: they belonged to the beautiful ballerina Lily Ronder. I hope they help Jul dance just as brilliantly!
-
Nymph Accessory
Cardsharp
To make Juliette’s dance genuinely brilliant, we need to get items bearing a piece of talent from the best dancers of all time. Begin with Isabella Danice’s flower crown. The Mistress of the Manor once added it to her collection along with the belt.
In her dancing, Danice promoted a return to ancient traditions, so her crown resembles that of nymphs. Say what you will, the Mistress has a knack for rare things!
-
Ball Orchestra
Alex
The orchestra for Juliette’s dance is ready, but when I tried tuning the instruments, I couldn’t get a single decent note from them. Still, a hundred years in this condition... Never mind, with the magic of the City we’ll quickly repair them. Can you help me with this?
All the instruments of our orchestra sound glorious again! The ballroom is flooded with beautiful music, with captivating sounds resonating under the high arches...
-
Listen Only to Me!
Alex
Our orchestra lacks one small thing. We need a piercing and sonorous sound that will attract the attention of the listeners. The trumpet is too coarse, the cornet isn’t loud enough... Maybe the Flugelhorn? Find one.
An ordinary trumpet sounds too coarse, but the gentle sound of a flugelhorn is what you need for a ball. Now we have all the instruments to perform a magical waltz!
-
Notes of Expression
Detective
Will Jul really dance for the ghost soon? And will I finally be able to embrace her? But the orchestra is still lack something. Intensity, expression, power... That’s right, a bassoon! It has it all in abundance. My friend, look for the Bassoon in the ballroom!
And here’s the Bassoon. I’m not a big fan of classical music, but I swear, if these instruments help save Jul, I’ll listen to only Beethoven for a month!
-
Leading Bass
Valerie
We definitely need a cello for the orchestra that will accompany Juliette in her dance. Alex says that bass sounds aren’t just important in rock music! Look for a Cello in the Manor. Hang on, Jul, your orchestra will be ready soon!
I always liked the soft, deep sound of the cello. It’s better than the shrill squeal of a violin! Although, maybe I just never met good violinists?
-
Softening of Rhythm
Mayor
Hurry up, or else my dear Juliet will have to keep dancing for many more nights! Wouldn’t the sound of the violin alone diminish the dancer’s youth, beauty, and passion? We need something to soften that sound. I think a clarinet would be just the thing.
Don’t judge this musical instrument by its looks - the enveloping sound of the clarinet will suit any composition. And now we’re one step closer to the goal.
-
Lamentation of the Bow
Martha
We’ve put together a magnificent dance for Juliette, but how can she dance without music? To fulfil the ghost’s request and help Juliette gain freedom, we must collect musical instruments for the best orchestra this City has ever seen.\n Find a Violin in the ballroom: this instrument is called the queen of the orchestra for a reason.
What an elegant old Violin. Look, here’s the mark of the famous master, Guarneri. If I’m not mistaken, Niccolo Paganini himself played the same instrument!
-
Prima Donna Part
Martha
Wonderful, you’ve found items from the world’s best ballet productions. Each one holds the emotions of its choreographer. They will help us create a dance that will amaze the Dancer’s ghost and free Jul. It’s time for a special ritual. To perform it, I’ll need the power from City’s artifacts. Find them.
Yes! We made it! A grateful sigh has escaped Jul’s blue lips, and she is now dancing with grace, passion and unprecedented ease. She dances as if trained by the world’s best choreographers! Gentle coquetry in the tilt of her head, the fragility of a fluttering butterfly in her steps, and a lurking passion in the curve of her hand...
-
Dark-skinned Mystery
Alex
One last item and we’ll have Juliette’s dance. What’s missing? Jul’s eyes don’t hold the same mystery that temple dancers of the East have. And I know the thing that can help us: a jug from the ballet La Bayadere. Its events take place in India. Could you see if my guess is correct?
You’re successful yet again! The jug holds the warmth of the Bayadere’s dark-skinned hands. And the ballet itself is magnificent. It’s the tragic love story of an Indian priestess and a brave warrior.
-
Passion of the Southern Night
Detective
You don’t think that three ballets are all that the global scene can offer? Juliette’s dance lacks Spanish passion. The fan from Don Quixote, concealing the passionate gleam of Andalusian eyes, will convey the necessary emotions perfectly! Is it here in the Manor?
Yes, this is the fan from Don Quixote! Can you feel the energy? I remember Jul holding it in her hands and joking that Don Quixote himself was a secondary character in the ballet. Oh, how I want to see her smile again!
-
Simple Fun
Valerie
Jul’s dance lacks emotion. Now she needs a carefree gaiety. What could be better than the image of everyone’s favourite, Giselle? The Lily Branch should convey the right feelings. Please find it!
The Lily Branch from the ballet Giselle! Just look at these wonderful flowers! Sweet Giselle was friends with the whole world, and she didn’t expect a dirty trick from anyone. Let Jul convey her image in the dance!
-
Doomed Bird
Isabelle
Jul’s dance still lacks grace. Where is the smooth and graceful pirouettes? Help her master the part of Odette from Swan Lake. I’m sure that the weightless feather of a beautiful white-winged bird will convey the right emotions! Find the Swan Feather, and hurry.
Jul said that this feather used to adorn the hair of the Mariinsky Theatre ballerina who danced the part of Odette in the best production of Swan Lake ever performed. I hope she was right!
-
Christmas Nut
Martha
In the City of Shadows, many things retain the aura of past events or the people they belonged to. Since we can’t call on the best choreographers of the past, lets look for things from their famous productions instead. The sparks of someone else’s talent stored within these items will allow us to create the perfect dance for Jul.\n One of the most famous ballets is the Nutcracker. Can you find an item from this production?
This toy is the spitting image of the magical nut Krakatuk from Hoffmann’s fairy tale about the Nutcracker. What a sad fate: a beautiful prince turned into a child’s toy!
-
A Marvellous Ensemble
Detective
We’ve collected the jewellery worthy of beautifying Juliette’s dance. However, the jewellery has been in the Manor for so long, it’s now soaked with the dark aura of this place. We cannot put them on my dear Jul - the dark magic will start draining her vitality. We’ll need some City’s artifacts to neutralise their sinister aura. Will you help me?
Now the jewellery is absolutely harmless! Quickly, put it on Jul.\n She looks so gorgeous! Even the stone figures, it would seem, are watching her every move with fascination. I heard a delighted gasp escape their lips. However, maybe my imagination is playing tricks on me.
-
Artistry of the Greek
Cardsharp
The last piece of jewellery, my friend, will bring us even closer to saving Juliette from the ghost’s clutches! The Mistress of the Manor once boasted to me that she had managed to get her hands on a belt owned by the famous American dancer, Isabella Danice. Let’s dig into her jewellery?
One can only envy the Mistress’s collection of jewellery! Isabella Danice drew inspiration from ancient Greek dances, and her belt is made in Hellenic style. Bravo, my friend. Now we have everything we need!
-
Swan Neck
Martha
I think our collection lacks a bit of grace. We need a beautiful necklace. I’ve seen one in the Manor. A velvet choker with diamonds, that belonged to Milena Ksheminskaya, will give Juliette her innate softness of movement. Find it.
They say that the future Austrian emperor gave Milena the diamonds for the necklace. Even he could not resist the grace of a natural ballerina!
-
Passion of the Latin Quarter
Martha
We are looking for the jewellery of famous dancers for Juliette. The next piece of jewellery belonged to Angelica, an unrivaled flamenco dancer. Her huge earrings still carry a bit of Latin American passion. Find the golden hoop earrings in the Manor.
Yes, these are Angelica’s earrings! She was called the "Queen of Flamenco," and a Brazilian choreographer even named a whole dance style in her honour!
-
Weightless Steps
Martha
Selena Bonvard. Weightless, like a fragile butterfly, she managed to break from the shackles of an incurable disease with the help of art. I think her brooch is still in the Manor. Could you look for it? This brooch will give Juliette’s spirit the same fortitude!
This butterfly brooch is amazing. Did you know that Selena was supposed to die from tuberculosis, but lived until the age of 80 and became the most famous actress of her time? Talent is nothing without a strong will!
-
Spanish Grace
Cardsharp
Juliette continues to waltz around the ballroom under the spell of the Dancer’s ghost. Now we need to find the jewels of the best artists in history. Good thing the Mistress of the Manor used to collect famous jewellery. She wouldn’t pass up the Emerald Moon of the passionate Spaniard Amelia Diane. Could you look for it?
You’ve found Amelia Diane’s beautiful jewellery! In her youth, she charmed the padishah himself with her dancing. After the wedding, Amelia was showered with jewels, but the Emerald Moon became her favourite. And just think, it used to belong to the padishah’s elephant!
