  • Help from Carrots

    Martha

Now it's time for the most popular folk remedy - Carrots. Its properties are known to imporove the eyesight of practically everything. Bring some Carrots and squeeze out the juice.

Wow, so many Carrots! That's enough for the Conductor and for me. In fact I drink freshly squeezed carrot juice every day and I highly recommend it.

    Gift Shop

  • Celery Juice

    Martha

Magical glasses for the Conductor? In this case, it's best to treat him with fold remedies. Magic, like medicine, is not the only beneficial thing. I have an old recipe for improving vision. Let's use it. Bring some Celery root and squeeze the juice from it.

You brought fresh Celery root. That's good. Now squeeze the juice from it. This job requires the use of force, as I don't want to use magic.

    Diggers' Stash

  • A Nest on the Head

    Valerie

I hear you're looking for a hat belonging to the mysterious guest of the Hotel. The Detective said that it's very unusual. I saw a hat with a bird on it on the terrace! At first, I thought it was a live bird, but then I realised that it was just a stuffed animal. Bring me the hat.

Wow! Rich ladies will use anything to decorate their hats: feathers, bows and even artificial birds. However, according to the Detective, this hat with a stuffed bird is not like the one we're looking for.

    The Hotel

  • Take refreshment

    Conductor

Here are my thoughts: Psy-werewolf attacked Valerie and she, according to the dictaphone, passed out due to their mental attack. Judging by the tuft of fur, common werewolves were also at the place she disappeared. that means the werewolves have united. That's it. I need refreshment but my flask is empty! I have a bottle of good rum stashed at the Station. Find it and I'll figure out how to find Valerie. You have my word!

Put the rum in the flask and give it a try. Ooh, not bad at all. It's clear to me now that the chest is vital. We need to find the keys quickly and learn its secret!

    Station

  • Quench Thirst

    Isabelle

Obviously, the driver gets hot while driving the steam engine. Therefore, it's useful to have a flask of water on hand. I saw something similar near the train. Bring it please.

The driver's hard work does not allow him to be away from the steam engine's cabin. A flask of water helps to quickly quench one's thirst on the job.

    The Hotel

  • Withnesses to Events

    Huntress

Hmm, the Detective is getting ready to throw a vampire masquerade ball in a Dracula costume?! Either our old pal the Detective wants to pull a practical joke on us or Count Dracula has found a way to return to the world of the living. And not just return, but sink his fangs into Halloween and all the citizens of the City! We have to find out who we're actually dealing with. Look, there are lots of little spirits near Jack's Castle. They could have seen what happened here. Let's ask them. Look, here's Skull Gatekeeper. Begin with him.

This Skull Gatekeeper is an odd creation. It's good that you managed to find a common language with him. He says that several days ago he saw the Detective come here with a protective amulet and a black crow on his shoulder. It seems that the Detective also received the "From Jack" invitation letter and came to the Castle a few days before us.

    Castle Gate

  • Inspection

    Conductor

No driver can do without an Oiler. After all, the steam engine mechanisms need constant lubrication. Bring me the driver's Oiler, I saw it near the engine.

Just what I thought, the driver's Oiler was found near the steam engine. See how bit it is? And it's all because the steam engines often need to be lubricated.

    Castle Gate

  • Family Relics

    Cardsharp

I want to help look for these family valuables too. What if something really amazing crops up? Lets look for something with a green coat of arms and the image of deer. One of the ghosts in the mirror had those exacts marks on him.

What's that? Oh, it's a little knickknack - a Family Snuffbox belonging to Marquis de Breze. There isn't much known about him: he was rich, distinguished, and disappeared six months after his wedding.

    Bedroom

  • Golden Precision

    Detective

We must find out which souls in particular can't find peace because of the Mistress of the Manor. We can find a clue in the ghosts' pasts. Find a men's accessory with a yellow coat of arms framed in crimson oak leaves.

You found the Gold Pocket Watch with a coat of arms from Count Arlon so fast! The archives in City Hall say that the count was unique and close with the royal German court. He disappeared mysteriously while travelling with his young wife.

    Bedroom

  • The Stamp of Success

    Detective

Who are these rich gentlemen in the mirror, and why are they holding the Mistress hostage? Look for a men's accessory with a red and blue coat of arms in the bedroom.

Excellent, this is the Ring with a Coat of Arms from Viscount von Brugent. According to the archives, he was a man of considerable means and disappeared without a trace a couple months after he was married.

    Bedroom

  • Inhuman Mechanism

    Kira Woodville

What are these traces on my report on the inventor's personal file? The oily prints are so strange... Do you hear gears clicking? It seems to come from the next room. Maybe this is some kind of invention? Let's go and see.

You found the Mechanical Assistant created by the inventor! The case mentions that this robot was designed to help people with their daily concerns.

    Post Office

  • Notes from the Past

    Detective

The hosts who are holding the Mistress captive have taken on a definite shape. Now certain parts of their coats of arms can be seen on their clothing. I see a lot of stuff in this bedroom with aristocratic symbols on it. We need to find the items with the same markings that match the ghosts. That can hopefully shed some light on where they came from and what their relationship is to the Mistress. The first coat of arms is red with yellow stripes. Onwards, to the search!

You found the gold-inlayed notepad with a red and yellow coat of arms from Chevalier di Bris. After rummaging through City Hall, I found out that this chevalier was very wealthy. He disappeared without a trace a month after his wedding.

    Bedroom

  • Ends Jusify the Means

    Martha

Judging by the letter we found, the Mistress agreed to let her grandmother use a love potion on her without fear on the consequences. Find the love artifact so we can prove that the ritual took place.

Woah, what a love artifact! A Glass Heart filled with blood. I don't even want to think about whose it is. As you can see, Erzsebet von Linderle's spells are so strong they've lasted for over two centuries. Yeah, the Mistress's grandmother knew her way around the magical arts!

    Bedroom

  • A Helpful Idea

    Detective

We don't have any hard evidence that the Mistress used black magic for her own gain, but the ghosts holding her captive seem to be pretty sure of it. I bet that if you look hard enough, you'll find the Mistress's written agreement to perform the love spell.

You found it? Well, even without it I could see what was happening here. The Mistress wrote to her grandomther: "Please cast a love spell on me, grandmother! I'm not scared of the consequences. After everything I've gone through, I don't need a happy family. And the men - let them suffer! It's for the best."

    Bedroom

  • Starting Point

    Conductor

Hey, buddy! Can you give us a hand with our search? I think the last ice rune we need, the Prime Meridian Rune, can be found in the far corner of the Workshop. I noticed a blueish glow coming from over there. Once you find it we'll finally be able to activate Santa's magical beacon.

So, did you find it? I noticed the Prime Meridian Rune when I was helping the elves fix their conveyor belt. They're wrapping Christmas Presents much quicker now. The old Conductor is still good for something, ha ha.

    Santa's Workshop

  • A Steep Price

    Martha

The Mistress of the Manor would do anything to make her wish come true. What happened today was payback for the mistakes of her youth. My guess is that grandma Erzsebet wanted her granddaughter about the danger of black magic and its horrifying consequences. Look for the witch's response.

You managed to find the letter. Here's what Erzsebet said: "Dear, I can cast a love spell on you, but a marriage based on magic won't ever make you or him happy. What's more, every new passion will sap more and more joy from your life."

    Bedroom

  • Precious Ice

    Cardsharp

What do you think, my dear, are the runes very valuable? They're as beautiful as precious gems. Could they be made from sapphires? No? Too bad... the poor Cardsharp certanly wouldn't mind a few precious gems. By the way, I saw the Rune of the East in the Workshop. Be a dear and fetch it.

Yes, yes, this is definitely the Rune of the East. I wonder if Santa will reward whoever helps him get back to his Workshop... In any case, don't forget that Cardsharp did his fair share to save Christmas!

    Santa's Workshop

  • Magical Components

    Martha

Find the Rune of the West. We'll set it in the magical globe and activate the beacon. I just know that Santa will find his way to the City of Shadows soon.

You've found the Rune of the West. These ice runes really are remarkable magical items. I can sense the power of the rune you found - like a blizzard, the toughness of ice and the softness of fresh snow. It's an unusual and very powerful combination. The combined signal from all five runes will definitely reach Santa wherever he might be.

    Santa's Workshop

  • Elegant Components

    Mayor

I've looked over the diagram of the magical globe. The next rune is the Rune of the South, which has a letter S on one side. We need five coordinate runes. There's no time to waste. Find the Rune of the South right away!

I never would've thought the runes could be so... unusual. I guess I was expecting something like a mechanism. You know, something with screws and cogwheels. Oh well, set the Rune of the South in the globe. It's time to find the other ones - Christmas is right around the corner!

    Santa's Workshop

  • Water in a Sieve

    Isabelle

I sense the presence of ancient spirits. This is funayurei, the spirits of dead sailors. They are going to sink the boat, and Uta and Kumiko will be forgotten forever. I know how to outwit the spirtis. Please find a leaky dipper. An ordinary one will also do, just make holes in it first.

What a stroke of luck, you found the leaky dipper! Hurry up and throw it to the funayurei spirits! Now they won't be able to sink Uta's boat, no matter how much they try. Now he will safely reach the torii and cross the line between the worlds of the living and the dead.

    Riverside Abode

  • Cold Fire

    Juliette

In order for the beacon to activate and show Santa the way to the City of Shadows, we need to set coordinate runes into the magical globe. According to the elves, Santa's Workshop should have back-up runes in it somewhere. Let's start by finding the Rune of the North.

Wow, the Rune of the North is so beautiful! It shines like a star in the clear night sky I'd love to make a necklace of runes just like it. I'd even outshine the Mistress and her diamonds!

    Santa's Workshop

  • Burning Bright

    Martha

The five baubles with Santa's memories are hanging on the Christmas tree. Warmth and the belief in miracles will help light the Christmas Fire and melt the ice covering the globe. The nthe beacon will begin emitting magical signals so Santa can find his way back to his Workshop. Could you please bring me a few more artifacts from the City? They will help me focus the flow of the Christmas Fire in the right direction.

I thought nothing could surprise me, but this is the most beautiful Christmas tree I've seen in 200 years. Look, the Christmas star on top seems to shine with the light of a thousand happy smiles! The ice encasing the globe is melting, and the beacon is begining to pulsate. I can sense all the ice magic leaving this place. I hope Santa will come back soon!

    Santa's Workshop

  • Fun on Ice

    Mayor

I especially like Santa's last ornament. This is the wish of a certain little girl who couldn't walk, but really wanted to go ice skating at least once in her life. So Santa made her magical ice skates and the girl got better. Find the Christmas bauble with the ice skates inside.

Great, you found the last Christmas tree ornament! I used to have ice skates just like these when I was a little boy. I even won a competition in them! It was one of the happiest moments of my life, and it was all thanks to Santa Claus. This ball is truly a worthy decoration for a magical Christmas tree!

    Santa's Workshop

  • Childhood Daydreams

    Juliette

Santa Claus drew a doll inside the fourth bauble. Oh, mon ami, how I used to dream of getting such a pretty doll when I was little - one with a porcelain face and hands, and wearing an elegant dress! This long-awaited toy makes me so happy! It's good that Santa hasn't forgotten about it. Find the Christmas bauble with the doll inside.

Mon cheri, the doll in this Christmas bauble is so lovely! We've almost completed the entire collection of Christmas tree ornaments full of Santa's memories.

    Santa's Workshop

  • Red and Black

    Martha

Erzsebet von Linderle, the Mistress's grandmother, was a powerful witch who practiced black magic. These types of spells are all done with blood, be it from the witch herself, a victim or their target. Look for a ceremonial knife or dagger.

Here it is, a Ceremonial Dagger, hard evidence that the Mistress is involved with blood spells. There's even a letter here about her wish to become so attractive that every man would pine for her hand in marriage. A dangerous wish let me tell you.

    Bedroom

  • Ferret's Best Friend

    Conductor

I understand we need to find Valerie quickly, but first we must feed her pet. She'd never forgive me if her best friend starved, he's already bitten all my fingers! Valerie used to feed him apples. Sounds incredible, but Valerie was very proud that her little pet was a vegetarian.

Wow! Looks like Edmund hasn't eaten for days! He's just eaten a whole apple and I think he wants another. Control your appetite, little friend, we have to rescue your mistress first.

    Enchanted Ball

  • Mysterious Werewolves

    Martha

Valerie's description suggests she encountered Psy-werewolf. Supponsedly, some monstrous half-human-half-spirits conducted secret experiments to develop their psychic abilities to search for powerful artifacts. To pacify a psy-werewolf you need a Taser - I think the monsters' memories associate it with instruments of torture. I've mislaid my Taser, you'll have to look for it.

That's it. Now you are well prepared to meet a Psy-werewolf.

    Room of Fate

  • Small Family Secret

    Martha

Now that I know more about the Mistress's past, there's still one thing I don't get - how did a girl that couldn't attract the interest of a potential husband grow into such a desirable bride? Now she can7t escape her suitors fast enough! I know that the Mistress's grandmother was a fortune teller, could it be that her popularity among men is because of a sorcere in the family? Every witch has an amulet medallion that contains their image. I'm positive that the Mistress inherited her grandmother's. Go look for a medallion in the bedroom.

Who dould've doubted! An amulet with a woman's profile and magic symbols. There's an engraving on the lid: "To my beloved granddaughter from Erzsebet von Linderle. 1888." Her grandmother was a powerful witch. The Mistress probably went to her for help.

    Bedroom

  • Aid from the Ancestors

    Martha

Kumiko and Uta's ancestor spirits are calling to me. They want to help them complete the trial and return from the world of the dead. They will steer the boat of Uta on a safe path. In order for them to do this, we will need floating lanterns. Please help me find some.

What wonderful lanterns you've found! Quickly, let's lower them onto the water. Then the ancestor spirits will be able to indicate the safest way along which Uta will reach the torii gates and cross the line between the worlds of the living and the dead.

    Riverside Abode

  • Christmas Stories

    Martha

The next Christmas bauble with Santa's memories has a book in it. that's not surprising. Can you imagine how many books filled with fairy tales and other wonderful stories have been given as Christmas presents? Search Santa's Workshop for the Christmas bauble with the book inside. It's a real treasure!

Yes, this is the bauble with a book of fairy tales inside! I got one just like it for Christmas when I was little. Sorry, I'm just feeling very nostalgic right now. I need to be alone for a little while.

    Santa's Workshop

  • Trimming the Tree

    Conductor

It's a good thing Santa left detailed instructions on how to awaken the Christmas Fire. Its warmth will break the ice curse the Snow Queen cast on the Globe of Wishes. The beacon will activate, Santa will be able to use its signal to return to the Workshop and Chirstmas will be saved. The letter contains drawings of five magical Christmas baubles. Judging from the drawing, we've found the first one, which has a candy cane inside it. Now we just need to find the other four. The picture shows another ball containing a funny looking hat with a pompom on it. I remember getting a hat like that for Christmas when I was a kid. Could my hat really have been preserved in Santa's memories? Find the Christmas bauble with the hat in it.

Just looking at this snow globe fills me with delight! Look, inside there's a hat with a pompom on it. Kind of funny, isnt't it? No wonder Santa remembers it so vividly. I'll hang this ball on the tree myself.

    Santa's Workshop

  • The Magical Ornament

    Detective

As long as the Globe of Wishes is frozen with ice magic, Santa has no hope of finding his Workshop and coming home. We need to find a way to break the Snow Queen's ice curse. But how? Do you remember last year, on Christmas Eve, when we defeated the Snow Queen with the Christmas Fire? Now that's an idea! Santa's Christmas tree is ins the corner, but how can we light the Christmas Fire? I saw a beautiful Christmas tree ornament with a candy cane inside. There was something resembling instructions next to it. Please look for the Christmas tree ornament.

Wow, it's a snow globe with a candy cane inside! Looking at it makes me feel like a kid again. Such simple sweetness, and so much joy... Children really need to little! Hang the ball on the Christmas tree. Here are Santa's instructions, what do they say?

    Santa's Workshop

  • Money Transfer

    Valerie

A Three-Legged Toad is suitable for the amulet bracelet for the Huntress. Well, it increases wealth, not military power. But sometimes you can just buy your way out ofa battle. I saw it somewhere around here.

This toad works great for the amulet, and even attracts money so the Huntress can buy better armor with it.

    Crystals

  • Counting the Seconds

    Juliette

The elves told us about the last navigational device. It's the Christmas Chronometer, an incredibly precise tool for measuring time. It also counts the time left until Christmas. Find the Chronometer - I can't wait to take a look at it.

It's wonderful that you found the Christmas Chronometer! Now we have all of Santa Claus's navigational devices. It won't be long before we can figure out why Santa can't come back home.

    Santa's Workshop

  • Magical Vintage

    Detective

I should mention that Santa Claus is pretty old-fashioned. He marks his route on a map with a Frosty Drawing Tool. Find one in the Workshop so we can show Santa the way to the City and save Christmas.

Okay, it looks like you managed to find a Frosty Drawing Tool. To be honest, I thought it would be more unusual. The thing does belong to Santa Claus, after all.

    Santa's Workshop

  • Tricky Bait

    Isabelle

According to a custom, there should be nagashi bina dolls somewhere in the house. They absorb all misfortunes, and on the Hinamatsuri festival, people send them down the river to ward off evil spirits. Look for some nagashi bina dolls so that I can perform this ancient rite.

You found the nagashi bina dolls! Excellent! Let's send them adrift so they can lead away evil spirits that may prevent Uta and Kumiko from going through the torii portal safely.

    Riverside Abode

  • Navigating Between the Worlds

    Detective

As I understand it, Uta will go to the torii by boat. So we need to prepare one for sailing between the worlds. Now, I'm no expert in shipbuilding, but I do know something. Come, buddy, let's prepare the boat. I could use an extra pair of hands.

Great job, buddy! Our boat is prepared at the highest level: the holes are patched, the silt is removed, and we even found a pair of oars. I'm sure this boat can withstand a lot more than the transition between the worlds!

    Riverside Abode

  • Amulet for the Soul

    Martha

First things first, let's find a jade magatama - this amulet symbolizes the pristine nature of a soul. It will keep and protect the light of Kumiko's soul from the evil winds of the interworld. Please help me find the amulet.

Thank you, this magatama amulet will help us protect Kumiko's soul. Will you look at that - a blue flame has emerged in the stone! This is a sign that Kumiko's soul is infusing into the item.

    Riverside Abode

  • Cosmic Azimuth

    Conductor

When navigating a route among the stars, it's important to be able to determine your direction. You can't do this without a Heavenly Compass. Find it in the Workshop.

Buddy, I'm pleasantly surprised. You found the Heavenly Compass so quickly! It looks like a pretty complex device. I'm not sure I could use it to determine my direction.

    Santa's Workshop

  • Above the Horizon

    Mayor

The little elves told us about the Astral Sextant. It's a device for measuring the height of the sun and other stellar objects. It helps you fix your coordinates. Find the Astral Sextant. I'm curious to see what it looks like.

Wow, is that really Santa's Astral Sextant? It's a pretty complex instrument... I'd never be able to figure out how to use it on the go. Okay, we've got two of the devices from his navigational system. If we find the others, Santa will be able to find the City of Shadows and bring Christmas to every home.

    Santa's Workshop

  • Time to get armed!

    Conductor

I didn't expect werewolves to reappear in the Station. Once, they had a habit of prowling here, but I made short work of a bunch of them. I've become an expert at hunting them down and they all know it. The Conductor is not one to be trifled with! These monsters can only be killed with silver knives, you should find a couple of them as soon as possible.

Just the ticket! I've an old gun lying around I'll be glad to share with you. Check it well so it doesn't misfire at the worst possible moment.

    Crash Site

  • Heavenly Rings

    Juliette

In order for Christmas to be saved, Santa Claus has to find the way back to the City of Shadows. We need to learn as much as we can about Santa's navigational devices and beacons and figure out how they work. Start by searching the Workshop for the Astrolabe. This item is made up of a system of heavenly rings, one of which has our planet on it.

Great, it's the magical Astrolabe! Santa uses it to determine his location in space. This device must be pretty tricky to use when you're flying on a magical sleigh pulled by reindeer. But Santa seems to be used to it.

    Santa's Workshop

  • Fine Skill

    Mayor

Do you remember Santa's letter? He left orders for five elves. We just need to find the last one, Gold Danny. He's the one who made the ice crown based on the Snow Queen's sketches. Could this be where all the holiday woes began?

Gold Danny is covered in ice, just like the other elves. The villain who's responsible for all of this must have known we would want to question the elves and cast this icy curse on them for that very reason.

    Santa's Workshop

  • The Frozen Flim-Flammer

    Detective

One of the Christmas elves on the list is Slick Charlie. I bet he'd get along swimmingly with the Cardsharp. Guys like that always have a few tricks up their sleeves - and a five of clubs in their hat. Please find him. Maybe then we can figure out where Santa went.

Great! You've found Slick Charlie. The poor guy is frozen stiff. Okay, let's recap. All the elves we've found are frozen in ice. It's not pleasant, but still fixable. Hopefully Martha can find a way to revive them.

    Santa's Workshop

  • The Little Fashion Mogul

    Mistress

Last Christmas I ordered an exclusive hat made of crimson silk. I think Trendy Ernie made it for me. He's probably around here somewhere. Quick, find him!

Trendy Ernie is frozen too, just like an ice sculpture. In this state he couldn't even open his mouth, much less tell us what happened to Santa.

    Santa's Workshop

  • Familiar Faces

    Conductor

Apparently Santa Claus was getting ready to step out and left some work for his elves to do. Happy Willy is an old friend of ours after last Christmas's epic prank. It would be a real shame if he's also in the clutches of the icy dream... Let's look for Happy Willy. Maybe he can tell us where Santa Claus went.

My fears have been confirmed: Happy Willy is also trapped in ice and shows no signs of life. I'm afraid this elf won't be able to tell us anything at all.

    Santa's Workshop

  • Hey, over here!

    Juliette

I'm still not certain that the problems at Santa's Workshop, and the broken conveyor belt, are the work of the Snow Queen... but we can't save Christmas without Santa Claus. Where has that kindly ld soul wandered off to? It looks like he just stepped out for a minute, but based on the layer of dust, he's been gone for a long time. Remember how the elves, Santa's helpers, asked us for help? They must know where he is. Let's try to find one of the elves.

There's a little elf curled up into a ball under a workbench. Judging from this anvil, he must be a blacksmith. So he's the one who made my special dagger! The elf is all covered in hoarfrost, and he's barely breathing. But who froze him? Look, there's a note next to him.

    Santa's Workshop

  • Phony Gemstones

    Cardsharp

Yes, my friend! Even I, an expert at winning the rarest items, writes a letter to Santa every year. I have every since I was little! This year I asked Santa to give me a valuable accessory: a box for my magical deck of cards, encrusted with rubies and emeralds. Help me find this valuable case.

What a disaster! I was looking forward to getting that box, but the lid's broken, and the gemstones it's decorated with aren't real, they're just glass! I demand material compensation for this! We need to figure out who took it upon themselves to ruin Christmas.

    Santa's Workshop

  • A Hole for a Dandy

    Juliette

The Detective might be a good-looking guy, but he's such a nerd! This is the upteenth Christmas he's asked Santa for some kind of hat. Does he collect them or something? This year he asked for a Trilby Hat made of brown felt. Let's try to find his hat.

Year, that's it, the Trilby Hat the Detective wanted for Christmas. But what is this? It's an enormous hole! Every present we've found so far has been ruined.

    Bitter Disappointment

We figured out that the Mistress went to balls to look for a rich husband; but were her efforts successful? Lets put everthing we found together, add a little magic and find out!

    Bedroom

  • Natural Info

    Martha

How is it that whilst hopping from ball to ball the Mistress, despite dressing the part, hardly danced? Something was up with her. We have to find the missing evidence.

That was worth the wait. You found a cracked mirror. The Mistress was wrong not throuwing it away; it still stores all of her pain and despair. Everything is clear to me now - as a young woman the Mistress of the Manor was, to put it lightly, not a natural beauty.

    Bedroom

  • A Serious Bet

    Martha

We're learning some interesting details about the Mistress's life. She went to as many balls as she could, but hardly ever danced. Maybe she couldn't find the right dress? Look around, I'm sure you'll find the young Mistress's Ball Gown in the bedroom somewhere.

Well, here it is. As far as I know, this Victorian gown would've cost a pretty penny back in the day. How could the Mistress have afforded it? And again I'm seeing the image of the family brooch... It looks like the Mistress sold her last precious item to dress halfway decent.

    Bedroom

  • Dances, Dances and More Dances!

    Valerie

I can see the Mistress's past now: a couple dancing the waltz, flirting, writing notes to each other on scraps of paper. If the Mistress was really running this circuit, she had to have a pair of Dancing Slippers. After all, it was almost impossible not to dance at a ball. Go look for those slippers!

A pair of Dancing Slippers - just what she needed to dance in. Look, the soles are practically new. These slippers were hardly used. How's that possible?

    Bedroom

  • Grandiose Ideas

    Cardsharp

I want to explore the Mistress's past too! What did you learn? The Mistress was planning on getting married? Well, where better to land a rich husband than at an extravagant ball? You can probably find a schedule of society events from that time around here somewhere.

Wow, look! A full Ball Schedule from 1865. The Mistress kept it in good condition. The most prestigious ones are underlined - looks like this is how she marked the ones that she planned to attend.

    Bedroom

  • One Chance

    Juliette

They've captured my mistress and are holding her captive in the mirror-world. How did she make those spirits so mad? In her youth she had to live in real poverty. I think she decided to reclaim her place in society in one simple way - by marrying a rich man. Look for some little trifles around here that might reflect her dreams of getting married.

Just as I thought. You found a music box with a bride and groom dancing on the lid. Inside the box there's anote: "Soon the day will come when I'll be the bride!". Looky here, there's even a list of grooms. My mistress has always been a practical one, mon ami!

I could analyze the hair and find out whose it is. To do so, I need some chemical essence, which is in one of my vials. I can't remember where it is because of all this perfume mess.

Here's the vial, let's conduct a test... I knew it! This hair is from a werewolf! It's dreadful that such creatures lurk around here again.

Valerie came to see me the other day. She's a local girl, very curious, and was looking at the old trains. I went to my lodge to make some tea and suddenly heard a scream. I ran out but she was no longer there. One minute she was roaming between the cars and the next she'd disappeared! Please help us find her. Maybe she fell asleep somewhere, or wants to play hide-and-seek. That wouldn't be unexpected.

What is it, a tuft of hair? Stiff, dark gray hair... eigher a dog's or a wolf's. We'd better take it to Martha.

I expected to see something awful here, not a brightly decorated backyard with traces of holiday preparations. And we still haven't received any instructions. Although... Look, a bat is flying toward us with a scroll in its claws.

We didn't need the Huntress' support after all. As soon as we got to the lake, the werewolves scattered. Those mindless beasts have dragged the plane into the lake, and now it's partially underwater. Case's things are scattered along the shore... It will be hard to find the evidence.

The most notable thing that I discovered from the spirits is that the San Gabriel attacked a peaceful ship of the Ottoman Empire. If you can also bring the Flag from that ship, I'll find out more.

I'm going to do some magic with the ship's flag and try to call upon the ghosts of its former sailors in order to quistion them. You shouldn't hope for much - ghosts from the Ottoman Empire don't like talking at all.

The Jack? Yes, I have such a card, why? No, I really need it, though I don't play cards! This guy is such a handsome, curly-haired young man... I so lack male company! The Conductor is too old, the Cardsharp is too slippery and the Detective doesn't pay me any attention. Jack is so pretty I don't want to give it to you! Oh, all right, I'll trade it for a music player. There's no one to dance with, but at least I could listen to music. The player is somewhere among the wreckage.

Let me have a last look at lovely Jack. Now take it and leave before I change my mind. I already want it back, but I'll control myself for a little while. I'd listen to my music player, but I don't have any headphones. Maybe you can find them? Hey, where are you going?

The Queen and Jack of Spades from Cardsharp's deck? Of course I've heard of his deck. He fusses over it like a hen with just one chick. He was very upset when he lost the cards. I can find their actual location, but I need to take a couple of sips of my special potion. You can see how exhausted I am, I can't even get up from the chair. The last ritual used too much of my energy. Find me the potion and I'll be able to see the truth.

These are the images that were revealed to me after I drank half of the potion. Look closely... A young girl, a small animal on her shoulder... That's Valerie. She's near the crash site and she has Cardsharp's Jack of Spades.

I'm convinced that Kumiko, like any girl, can't resist the temptation of finding eternal beauty. Help me find her mirror, I'll explain what I mean.

  • True Poverty

    Juliette

If they expelled the Mistress from a prestigious school, she must've been pretty bitter. Her family didn't have a cent left. I've noticed that the Mistress still keeps an old dress around... Judging by the style - it's very old. Could it really be hers? We need to find it so we can look it over.

Here's the old-fashioned dress. In reality, it's not that ugly. The size fits the Mistress too, and it smells like her favourite perfume. Let me have another look. It's been fixed and restiched so many times. The mark of true poverty.

  • The Sad Aftermath

    Detective

We're missing a crucial detail for our investigation. Did the Mistress ever receive any kind of education? As the daughter of a noble family it's entirely possible that she studied at an elite institute. Look for any kind of document from a college or lyceum where the Mistress might have studied.

Not bad. You managed to find a School Insignia. It's from a very prestigious school; even children from the royal family studied there. Above the insignia there's a stamp that says, "Expelled". They did that when parents couldn't pay for their children's schooling anymore. How sad.

We found a charred shared of fabric with the Mistress's family coat of arms. It their boats all burned to the ground, then they definitely fell into dire straits - me of all people should know that. Look for loan certificates, bills of sale, and finally a "For Sale" Sign from the house.

I was right! The sign you found tells us that the Mistress's parents were forced into putting their house up for sale due to their difficult financial situation.

  • Aristocratic Roots

    Martha

Seriously, why are you investigating the Mistress's kidnapping? I wonder what's lurking in her past. Where did all these aristocratic habits come from? Look for a coat of arms of family monogram.

Hmm, you found a burnt shred of fabric with an embroidered coat of arms? What a heavy aura this thing has! It contains boats on fire, so the family must've hit hard times. This shared of material is the only property that survived the ship fire.

If we want to learn about the Mistress of the Manor's past, we should look at her family photos. They can tell us about her childhood and who her parents were. Look for an old Family Photo, there's bound to be one around here somewhere.

You found a Family Photo of the Mistress dated 1856. Look... a little girl in a sailor's outfit next to her happy parents. They're at a port in front of a fleet of ships. They're dressed rather wealthily. On the back it says "Nord Company - Nord Ost. Our life's work."

I'm sure the underworld spirits will tempt Kumiko with vivid pictures and the promise of a luxurious life. I think the girl herself dreamed that all of her crockery was made from exquisite porcelain. Bring me a porcelain cup and help me dispel this temptation.

I'm sure the spirits will try to tempt the siblings, promising them eternal reverence. But, having studied the relics of Uta and Kumiko's family, I've realized that they were once very rich and revered. This is indicated by the inro case over there, do you see it? Come, I'll show you.

Such inro cases used to be a symbol of noble citizens. Inside them, the head of a family kept paper and a personal seal. But a high social status is very easy to lose. So why be tempted by something even more unstable than the weather?

Feast your eyes, this old bowl served for a long time, and even after it smashed, it got a second life in a craftswoman's hands. It was preserved and glued back together with a gold mixture. Mon ami, without your help, I wouldn't have got these thimbles - they rolled too far under the table. Martha believes that Uta will be able to recognize his sister's spirit with these thimbles. She used them so often that she took part of their energy with her to the underworld.
