This arisaema is a luscious flower. But I don't sense any evil in it. Gallahard writes that he picked this flower on an island off the coast of Florida and got nothing else. But it was the luring sounds and whispers from the depths of darkness heard there that drove his companion mad.

How sad that the Titulis is a symbol of heartbreak... The Colonel's travel diary states that such a flower is not to be found even in the British Museum. Gallahard found it on the coast of North America. A research expedition had arrived there after searching aimlessly for the wreck.

Hmmm...from Gallahard's letter, this poor man was so desperate that he asked the British intelligence agency for help. He asked them to arrange for the King of India to marry Miss Peacock. In exchange, he made a promise to the agency directly under his command.
